Text messages had oh so handwavily gone out to all the chaperones on the trip that Summer's Jello Shot Room Party would be happening that Wednesday, of course, followed by an afterparty over at Karaoke Kan's Shibuya location. Because, at this point, a jello shot room party and some sort of afterparty was practically tradition. And to steal a phrase from another character: Tradition? Don't mess with it!

(That was totally how it went, right?)

Either way, through an series of complicated arrangements that allowed her to pull off her usual serving of shots, Summer (and Barry!) had put together a fine selection, and then she went to get the room prepared after spending some time around Tokyo (and, like, sort of chaperoning, too? Because that was what they were there for, right?), and wondering if the size of the room might actually work to their benefit in getting everyone ready to get out to the bar for some karaoke!

Jello Shot Room Party! - 02/24.

Suuuuure, the room party this semester was going to be a little...cozy, but, hey! At least there were no ghosts this time, and the balcony should be great for the smokers!

There is, of course, a small but thematic selection of jello shots for the evening, featuring a lot of sake: a ginger sake cocktail shot, a sweet peach sake shot, a lychee sake-tini shot, and, of course, little sushi jello shots.

There's still some leftover sake, too, as well as a small collection of Japanese beers. Summer tried to go real ecclectic with them, meaning she doesn't even know what some of them really were, but, hey! Vacations like these were about adventure and new experiences, right?

If you're a chaperone or a guest, come on in, and enjoy the party! If you're a student, just keep in mind, Rosa's the bouncer.

At least she had tasted sake before, thanks to Shunsui.

Well, Rosa was here as the bouncer, apparently, which was fine by her, because that gave her an excuse to just hang out by the door, avoid most people, avoid the jello shots, and just enjoy a beer and people watching.

Although, if she was honest, she was far more concerned with keeping an eye out for lobsters than she was students.

Although Shunsui's nights had certainly been filled with parties of his own pursuit, far be it for him to miss out on one of Summer-chan's charming little soirée! So he swept in easily, ready for a good evening, and fairly certain that no matter how much sake Summer-chan did have, it was not nearly enough, so it was a very good thing he was here to provide some more!

Amaya wasn't sure if she'd stay here at the party for long; she was definitely thinking of skipping the after party, but she figured it would be okay to at least duck in for a little bit and maybe see what Summer cooked up for her shots this time. She just didn't really feel comfortable leaving Dave and Diane (that was the other lobster) alone for too long, though maybe they might actually enjoy a little bit of time to themselves...

Prompto had been dying to do some karaoke, and while he did drag Ignis out with him for some last night, this was even better because 1) there were more people and 2) the set-up was perfect for Prompto to maybe get a little bit of his drink on before heading out since he actually wasn't old enough to drink properly in Japan.

Not that it mattered, he really wasn't the type to get super drunk or anything, but Summer's jello shots were a lot of fun and it just helped loosen him up a little so he could really go all out on the mic!

Plus, it was kind of cool, to think that even though he wasn't a teacher, he was at the teacher party now.

This was most certainly not Ignis's usual scene, but he had to round out the cast knew Prompto would be all for it, and, let's be honest, this whole vacation scheme was far more for his sake than it was for Ignis's, although he had to admit, he had found it rather enlightening and inspiring at some times.

Besides, he did have quite a bit of professional curiousity in Summer's shots. They actually were quite impressive, and he had to admite anyone with any particular culinary vision...even if that vision involved a sometimes worrying amount of geletin.

If Stark was going to be in a crowded hotel room this evening he had decided Summer's room was a much better option than his own.

Summer's room was also, apparently, larger than the one Stark was sharing with half the teaching staff. And there was jello!

Sure, John would be there. Possibly to see if he could get revenge on Skywalker (since this rooming nonsense was most likely his fault, John was a full time staff-member, thank you!), but mostly for the booze.

He even had a pack of Japanese beer to add to the party favors for the evening. Or maybe other 'party favors,' if he liked you, but those weren't getting set out for the general public.

Jello shot parties were not usually to Ghanima's taste, but she was attempting to socialize with her coworkers more and try new things.

She did bring a few bottles of nice sake with her, to add to Summer's collection of beverages.

Parties this crowded weren't generally Hannibal's thing, but he felt he ought to support Summer, so here he was.

He was even taking a jello shot or two, though he was definitely avoiding the one with the overly processed food leather wrapped around it. The ginger sake was quite interesting.

"My compliments to the jello chef," he told Summer, bowing and smiling. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

Why, yes, this is the karaoke bar featured iconically in that one movie, but not that Summer was aware of that, because she was literally, like, three when that movie came out, sooo...

Either way, once the jello starts to run dry, it's time hop into a few shuttles and head on over to the afterparty, where there's a wide selection of songs available as well as an all-you-can-drink option! Just in case you need a little extra liquid courage before getting on stage.

Or just because you like drinking.
