Text messages had ~~oh so handwavily~~ gone out to all the chaperones on the trip that Summer's Jello Shot Room Party would be happening that Wednesday, of course, followed by an afterparty over at Karaoke Kan's Shibuya location. Because, at this point, a jello shot room party and some sort of afterparty was practically tradition. And to steal a phrase from another character: Tradition? Don't mess with it!

(That was totally how it went, right?)

Either way, through an series of complicated arrangements that allowed her to pull off her usual serving of shots, Summer (and Barry!) had put together a fine selection, and then she went to get the room prepared after spending some time around Tokyo (and, like, sort of chaperoning, too? Because that was what they were there for, right?), and wondering if the size of the room might actually work to their benefit in getting everyone ready to get out to the bar for some karaoke!

An excuse to get out of his overcrowded room, into a different overcrowded room, but with jello shots?

Sure, John would be there. Possibly to see if he could get revenge on Skywalker (since this rooming nonsense was most likely his fault, John was a full time staff-member, thank you!), but mostly for the booze.

He even had a pack of Japanese beer to add to the party favors for the evening. Or maybe other 'party favors,' if he liked you, but those weren't getting set out for the general public.

"Awww," said Summer, beaming at the beer in John's hands, "you brought reinforcements!"

Good way to get immediately on the hostess' good side, although, really, also being someone who wasn't a 'staple' at her social gatherings also got people ridiculously high points.

"The librarian, right?"

The one with the scheme that was getting so many internal cackles out of Summer for this trip. Sooooo many.

"Guilty as charged, love," John said, giving her a mock-bow. "John Constantine, professional bad influence, beleagued librarian, and occassional reluctant teacher, at your service."

"Summer Smith," she offered back. "Professional boozy jello artist, bartender, and teacher of breaking brains. We've met, at the bar once, I think," oh, on that fateful, fateful night, "but that was, you know, pretty much forever ago. How've you been?"

A beat.

"How's the class going?"
