Room 102, then Karaoke Kan Shibuya; Tokyo, Japan; Wednesday Night [02/24].

Text messages had oh so handwavily gone out to all the chaperones on the trip that Summer's Jello Shot Room Party would be happening that Wednesday, of course, followed by an afterparty over at Karaoke Kan's Shibuya location. Because, at this point, a jello shot room party and some sort of afterparty was practically tradition. And to steal a phrase from another character: Tradition? Don't mess with it!

(That was totally how it went, right?)

Either way, through an series of complicated arrangements that allowed her to pull off her usual serving of shots, Summer (and Barry!) had put together a fine selection, and then she went to get the room prepared after spending some time around Tokyo (and, like, sort of chaperoning, too? Because that was what they were there for, right?), and wondering if the size of the room might actually work to their benefit in getting everyone ready to get out to the bar for some karaoke!

[[ and minor ocd incoming is up! Go forth and party! ]]

Amaya wasn't sure if she'd stay here at the party for long; she was definitely thinking of skipping the after party, but she figured it would be okay to at least duck in for a little bit and maybe see what Summer cooked up for her shots this time. She just didn't really feel comfortable leaving Dave and Diane (that was the other lobster) alone for too long, though maybe they might actually enjoy a little bit of time to themselves...

"Amaya! There you are!" Lucille approached her, smiling. "I am sorry I left you to deal with the lobster. Did you find a way to cook it?"

"Ermmm." Amaya faltered slightly, because now she had to figure out if she was just honest with Lucille about the lobster, or if she figured a little...flexing of the truth might be in order.

"You know," she ventured, "it's the strangest thing. The darn thing got away from me, wouldn't you know it? Those lobsters. They're much wilier than I would have ever given them credit for!"

"Oh," Lucille said. "That solved the problem, I suppose, although having boiled it would have been interesting. I did try to buy an owl today, but it was probably for the best that they weren't for sale."

There was...a pause.

"Were you planning on eating the owl, too?"

Really, Amaya had to ask.

"Of course not."

Lucille looked a little offended.

"But they are beautiful animals, and perhaps a pet would have been nice. Tisarwat would have had to agree, though."

"Really?" asked Amaya, her head tilting. "I've heard they could actually be a little annoying."

But maybe that was strictly true of talking owls in waistcoats from Serenia...

"They can be violent," Lucille said. "But these ones were peaceful enough. I am quite sure they were not meant to be eaten, though."

"I mean," Amaya pointed out, "I'd bet they'd probably taste like chicken. Most things are pretty edible if you try hard enough."

If you were to look at an owl and look at lobster, which one were you really going to be all 'now that looks like food!' anyway? One that just needed to be plucked? Or the one wearing literal armor?

"Can be eaten doesn't mean should," Lucille said, then smiled. "But you are probably right. I seems like the lobster escaped the boiling pot though."

She continued: "I hope you have found more interesting things than my lobster though."
