Text messages had ~~oh so handwavily~~ gone out to all the chaperones on the trip that Summer's Jello Shot Room Party would be happening that Wednesday, of course, followed by an afterparty over at Karaoke Kan's Shibuya location. Because, at this point, a jello shot room party and some sort of afterparty was practically tradition. And to steal a phrase from another character: Tradition? Don't mess with it!

(That was totally how it went, right?)

Either way, through an series of complicated arrangements that allowed her to pull off her usual serving of shots, Summer (and Barry!) had put together a fine selection, and then she went to get the room prepared after spending some time around Tokyo (and, like, sort of chaperoning, too? Because that was what they were there for, right?), and wondering if the size of the room might actually work to their benefit in getting everyone ready to get out to the bar for some karaoke!

If Stark was going to be in a crowded hotel room this evening he had decided Summer's room was a much better option than his own.

Summer's room was also, apparently, larger than the one Stark was sharing with half the teaching staff. And there was jello!

"The sushi are very cute," Stark said approvingly. "And I appreciate the candy fish."

"I think those are my favorite, too," Summer admitted with a grin. "I thought you might like them. And welcome to your first Jello Shot Room Party, Stark!"

Of course he liked them. They weren't real fish this time!

"Thank you." Stark did like to be included in things.

"I should probably try one of each." Then maybe he could be convinced to sing later!

"Please do," Summer enthused. "Try each of them several times, even, there are so many and they're literally pointless after the first day or so."

"Several times might be too many." Stark didn't want to end up tripping and falling on any of his roommates when he made it back to the room. And he didn't want to be caught in case anyone had set traps. And he didn't want Faye to knock him off the balcony if she had decided he was no longer an ally.

"But at least one of each. Perhaps extra sushi. Wouldn't want them wasted." No, we want the people slightly wasted, not the jello.

"It would be a terrible shame," Summer agreed, gravely, despite the pleased little smile on her face.

"Can't have that." Stark shook his head and picked one of the aforementioned sushi shots up.
"Since they come in colors I might need one of each."

Although maybe leftover jello shots could be used somehow to take over the bed. He would have to think on that.

"I like the way you think, Stark," said Summer, who almost now wished there were more colors available to her, but oh well. "You think you'll come to the afterparty, too?"

"I thought I would. To see what it's like since I haven't been before." Stark had somehow never been to any space karaoke bars before coming to Fandom.
And it couldn't be any stranger than the place he'd gone for lunch today.

"Are you going to sing?"

"Oh," said Summer, emphatically. There was a lot of emphatic in her that evening. "Totally. I love karaoke, and the fact that we're doing it in Tokyo, which is, like, the karaoke capital? Is just too good to pass up. I've got, like, a whole list."

"I see." He didn't really, but that was fine. Stark just didn't understand karaoke but maybe he would, given time. He would be an appreciative audience member at least!

"How long of a list? Is everyone singing?" He would, given enough encouragement and jello. Probably. And then he might hide all day tomorrow.

"In a perfect world," said Summer, "yes, everyone would sing, but we've definitely got more than a few hold-outs who refuse to have any fun. And it's not that long, there's maybe, like, five or six songs I'm kind of waffling on doing or not, but that's still kind of a lot. I'll maybe do, like, half that..."

"I don't know if I know any songs." Stark absolutely knew some songs, especially if he had the words in front of him. They were probably just songs from at least a decade ago. Or songs that were from the wrong world.

"Who refuses to have fun?"
