When Summer dug into that first bite of pancakes, she closed her eyes to just take a nice, long moment to appreciate how this place always seemed to have the perfect ratio of pancake to syrup, then opened her eyes so she could also appreciate the retreating form of the shirtless hunky waiter who'd delivered their food to them, while scritching behind the ears of the absolutely adorable kitten curled up and sleeping in her lap right now with her free hand, while a purry tabby affectionately nuzzled her leg.
"I am so glad we're doing this right now," she said, reluctantly turning away from the waiter to go in for another bite. "I swear, if I had to relive the giant spider invasion of [Unnamed Planet] one more time, I was going to totally flip my shit."
