So, the whole space part of Summer's plan for Annie's party didn't exactly pan out the way she was hoping. Part of her conversation with Lucifer on Wednesday had turned out to be somewhat prophetic, as one for her choices for location had conveniently decided to start a galactic civil war with their moon colonies, and the other place, apparently, didn't even exist anymore. The best guess was that it somehow involved Cromulans, which meant that planet was pretty much space dust now, which meant that Summer could pretty much kiss her deposit on that venue good-bye.

Which was fine! If she couldn't still pull together a more terrestrial party at the last minute, then she truly should just hang up her party crown now and retire in shame. So emails and texts went out, the gnomes at Portalocity would hopefully cooperate in sharing the news with anyone who showed up expecting to head elsewhere, that the party was relocated. And Summer was going to just use her own place for the cause, but, really, through the ensuing chain of events in preparation that morning, she remembered that Diego's apartment was pretty much literally right across the hall and easily twice as large.

So Diego's apartment it was!

Honestly, as boyfriend, it was literally the least he could do.

But because it was a little last minute and Summer didn't have the benefit of foisting at least half the cleaning duties on an NPC bartender like she could at Caritas, the decorations were a bit more...restrained. Oh, sure, there was still going to be glitter everywhere and every corner that Summer had access to was decked out in stars, but the mood was much different, trying to go for something a little more elegent in mood, with starlights draped out on the balcony, draped over doors, and projected over the walls and ceiling.

Look, if they couldn't make it out to space due to galactic conflict and super harsh critics with planet-exploding capabilities, they could at least try to bring the space to them.

This party is being thrown by a bartender, so you know the kitchen is definitely stocked with a good array of beers and booze for mixing or just enjoying as advertised. And since it was being thrown by this particular bartender, you know there's jello shots, too! Since this is a party straight up for Starlight, all of Summer's greatest Starlight-themed favorites, classics and hits (and a few new ones, some of which seem particularly suited to be taken out of the bar setting) are on display and available to enjoy!

There is also plenty of completely moddable snacks and foods, but don't anyone try and tell Summer that star-shaped pizza and finger sandwiches weren't the best touches yet.

Diego was fairly certain this was the most food his apartment had ever had in it. He was certainly going to take advantage of that, and ignore the fact this was sort of a bittersweet experience for him right now.

"Hiding out in the kitchen, huh?" asked Summer, on her rounds, of course, and figured she should at least pester the guy whose apartment this was a little. "Or just keeping watch over the booze?"

"I'm just in awe of seeing this much food in my kitchen," Diego joked. "Usually it's just protein shakes and pop tarts."

Oh, Diego. Diego, honey, no.

"Do not tempt me to try and sneak into the place just to put actual food in your fridge every once in a while," said Summer, who was sincerely thinking about it now, especially since he wouldn't even have Annie to look after him anymore, because very clearly all guys were hopeless and it was only through the grace of their awesome girlfriends that they could even manage to survive, didn't you know.

Pfft, Annie was just as bad as he was regarding food! This was the woman who kept condoms in her flour container because she had no other use for it.

But yeah, he probably would need someone to force him to eat food that didn't come from a GNC.

"Since you are no one's designated walker tonight," Annie said, wandering through and pressing a quick kiss to Diego's cheek before moving towards the shots, "I am declaring you have to try one of each of these."

"We'll make sure you get enough water, too," Annie decided, selecting two of the OG Starlight champagne shots and offering one to Diego. "If I can handle it, you definitely can. And these are really good."

Like, seriously, Summer had been making Starlight-themed shots since at least Annie's birthday, so not only was there a range to choose from, but Annie also thought she'd sort of honed the craft over time.

Diego took the offered jello shot, and inspected it for a moment. He would always feel a bit weird about eating his alcohol. But, whatever, bottoms up.

"Okay, it's not bad."

There were enough people in this apartment that Stark didn't know, or only knew in passing, that it was inevitable he would end up sort of hiding out in the kitchen by Summer's jello shots and food. He didn't even know the occupant of this apartment except by sight.

And since said occupant was right there it seemed only reasonable for Stark to offer a nod and quiet hello to Diego as he reached for one of the Starburst jello shots.

"Hey, man," Diego said with a nod in return. He was glad Stark was taking the Starburst jello shots because Diego sure as hell wasn't going to eat them. Yellow Starburst were the worst ones.

"If it helps," Liam said, because yes, he'd heard multiple people talk to Diego about the glitter, "I'm pretty sure a lot of the glitter is going to get traipsed throughout the rest of the building. We're all gonna be finding this shit for weeks."

You know, Liam had gone through something similar a couple years ago, when Verity had been considering going full-time with her dance career.

Of course, he'd had the option of just packing up and going with her, which made the possibility a little easier to bear.

"The mice love it," he sighed. "I'm going to find little piles of glitter all over my apartment."

She settled down in a convenient chair and slouched down, nursing her drink.
