✨ MHA #2: Super Starlight Party! - Saturday Evening [04/17]. ✨

So, the whole space part of Summer's plan for Annie's party didn't exactly pan out the way she was hoping. Part of her conversation with Lucifer on Wednesday had turned out to be somewhat prophetic, as one for her choices for location had conveniently decided to start a galactic civil war with their moon colonies, and the other place, apparently, didn't even exist anymore. The best guess was that it somehow involved Cromulans, which meant that planet was pretty much space dust now, which meant that Summer could pretty much kiss her deposit on that venue good-bye.

Which was fine! If she couldn't still pull together a more terrestrial party at the last minute, then she truly should just hang up her party crown now and retire in shame. So emails and texts went out, the gnomes at Portalocity would hopefully cooperate in sharing the news with anyone who showed up expecting to head elsewhere, that the party was relocated. And Summer was going to just use her own place for the cause, but, really, through the ensuing chain of events in preparation that morning, she remembered that Diego's apartment was pretty much literally right across the hall and easily twice as large.

So Diego's apartment it was!

Honestly, as boyfriend, it was literally the least he could do.

But because it was a little last minute and Summer didn't have the benefit of foisting at least half the cleaning duties on an NPC bartender like she could at Caritas, the decorations were a bit more...restrained. Oh, sure, there was still going to be glitter everywhere and every corner that Summer had access to was decked out in stars, but the mood was much different, trying to go for something a little more elegent in mood, with starlights draped out on the balcony, draped over doors, and projected over the walls and ceiling.

Look, if they couldn't make it out to space due to galactic conflict and super harsh critics with planet-exploding capabilities, they could at least try to bring the space to them.

If the invites don't get you through the door, maybe all the lights and music and general hub-bub will! Arrive, mingle, come get your party on, like you do!

This party is being thrown by a bartender, so you know the kitchen is definitely stocked with a good array of beers and booze for mixing or just enjoying as advertised. And since it was being thrown by this particular bartender, you know there's jello shots, too! Since this is a party straight up for Starlight, all of Summer's greatest Starlight-themed favorites, classics and hits (and a few new ones, some of which seem particularly suited to be taken out of the bar setting) are on display and available to enjoy!

There is also plenty of completely moddable snacks and foods, but don't anyone try and tell Summer that star-shaped pizza and finger sandwiches weren't the best touches yet.

As far as parties go, this one is actually pretty straight forward, but should there be anything else in particular you'd like to throw in there, make a thread here and go on with your party self!

There is a good chance that today is actually the worst day for interactions from me in a whiiiiiile, but I am but a helpless slave to the party gods and their pretendy-fun-time-game High Priestess of Partydom.

I just pray that they view this offering as satisfactory, and that you may all go forth in party greatness without me.

A party on a Saturday that seemed normal so far seemed like the perfect thing for Seivarden, who had spent a lot of time this week missing the kid she had had last weekend, and pondering the universe that she had been from.

Celebrating Annie's promotion seemed like a good reason too. So here she was, showing up in her Radchaai uniform - it seemed appropriate - and glanced around the room.

"A theme that makes sense, I suppose."

Lucille might not be a party person, but showing up at social events had become less and less awkward. She wore her usual red dress, although perhaps she should get a new one soon, glanced at the star decor, and looked around for someone she knew well enough to approach.

She just wished people nowadays still had pianos. It always made things easier.

"Everybody loves a theme!" said Summer brightly, by way of greeting, as she went up to say hi to Seivarden at about that time.

Besides, using lights as a central focus was going to make clean-up so much easier!

"Glad you could make it, Seivarden!"

Oh, like she would have soooo much going on tonight anyway.

Well, she kind of knew the hostess! Who was going to try ~~ahahaha~~ to approach everyone, as a good hostess should!

"Lucille! Thanks for coming!"

Because it was such a long trek down the hall and everything!

"How've you been?"

Even if Tisarwat didn't really know the person the party was for, or even the person whose apartment it was in, she did live right down the hall, and a Sumemr party was always worth it, so, if anything, it would be a good chance to get out and meet some of her neighbors who weren't Summer and some more people besides.

If she didn't make it to a party going on right down the hallway, she really might as well give up entirely at that point...

"Of course, wouldn't want to miss it," Seivarden said. "So, jello shots tonight?"

"Oh, quite well, thank you. And yourself?" Lucille replied politely.

"It is quite a starry theme tonight."

"Of course," Summer enthused, grinning a little, and cocking her head toward the kitchen. "In the kitchen, all on theme, natch. I swear, the day I throw a party without jello shots is the day someone needs to come try to fuck me up with magnets because I've probably been replaced by a robot again."

A beat.

"Or we're trapped in a haunted castle hotel with no way to actually make jello again."

Because that had been a thing once, too!

"Amazing," Summer answered, truthfully, eagerly, because it was a party, there was no other acceptable answer. "And, yeah! It sort of works two ways, since this was originally supposed to be in space, but also, Annie's superhero name is Starlight, so, you know, obviously, you have to play up a theme when you've got it!"

"Tisarwaaaaaaaaaaaat!" Some of the shots Summer was doing in between greeting proplr were catching up with her a little as she grinned and made her way over. "You liiiiiiiiive!"

The two of them just did not seem to hang out together as much anymore these days! For some unknown reason!

Ignis was certain he'd only met Annie once, at his own party (he was not including any shoe-related interactions, thank you), but he had told Summer he would come to her little shindig, and he'd even advised her on some of the food and drinks in their correspondence about it, and so he was there, admittedly a little disappointed that the space plans apparently fell through, but this should still be a pleasant evening.

Diego was fairly certain this was the most food his apartment had ever had in it. He was certainly going to take advantage of that, and ignore the fact this was sort of a bittersweet experience for him right now.

Lucifer had been milling about the island for most of the afternoon after Duke had insisted he 'needed to sleep' and 'was only human' or whatever. Then he'd remembered about Summer's party. An excellent opportunity to blow off some more of that remaining restless energy...

"...I thought there was going to be space," he said, upon entry. He didn't really know Annie at all, but he rarely got the chance to break out his marigold suit, so he was even color-coordinated today.

"Hiding out in the kitchen, huh?" asked Summer, on her rounds, of course, and figured she should at least pester the guy whose apartment this was a little. "Or just keeping watch over the booze?"

"Ooooooooooh."

Summer? Was definitely going to appreciate anyone else who was going to bring it on theme like thatm, without even any prompting or anything! And she was going to make sure Lucifer knew how much she appreciated it with a very clear dance of her finger up and down his whole self, emphasized with a very poignant, "Yes.

"And also," she added, "wouldn't you know it, space didn't actually work out. Turns out, there was super-space-war-civil-unrest that we're probably better off avoiding and a whole planet just up and missing, so I decided to just take that as a sign to just keep the whole thing planet-side after all..."

"Oh, good!" Summer beamed when she saw Ignis and made her way over. "You made it! You'll have to make sure to hit up the kitchen and see if all the spread is up to your standards, Ignis. I don't think you'll be disappointed, though."

Seivarden made a face. "Let's wish neither of those happens. And not just for the jello. Wait, replaced by a robot again?"

Because Prompto definitely couldn't miss out on a party that was happening while he just so happened to be on the island for the weekend...

...seriously, at this point, why didn't he just pretty much do the whole 'Fandom on the weekends' thing with Ignis?

...actually...that...might...not be such a bad idea.

So Prompto was definitely here to have a good time and celebrate this person who he should probably meet while he was here ~~and overpopulate the party with my own characters in a potentially disasterous bout of optimisim~~, but also, apparently, to work out some kinks in a suddenly newly hatched and not yet fully formed spark of an idea in his head...

"Oh. Yes that is true."

Lucille had only found out that Annie was a superhero from the invitation.

"Much as I would like to travel to space, this makes getting home a lot easier."

Summer's head tilted, looking at Seivarden with an expression both mildly amused and honestly a little surprised.

"Oh, you mean I've never even told you about that? Yeah, for, like, a solid month, my grampa replaced me with a robot. It was while I was here and everything. That was when I was in the Apocalypse, you know, where that whole thing with Hemorrhage started, but that was back when I was in school, we didn't really know each other back then, but, man, there's robot-me radios and everything."

It hadn't taken long, including one very frustrating week, to make Lucille lean closer to Tisarwat than she had up until recently, almost nudging her hand.

"I trust there are jello shots matching the theme too."
