Room 308; Wednesday Evening [10/12].

Ah, yes, what better way to follow up a day heavy on war stuff than a jello shot party in what was essentially a hotel room! But, look, the Wednesday night jello room parties were just a tradition at this point, and Summer practically centered the first half of her trips around making them happen, so she was going to be very disappointed if no one even bothered to show up.

She was going to have a very rough Thursday if she had to do all these jello shots by herself (minus the one or two she could convince Barry to choke down).

So the mass texts to everyone had been sent out, as well as texts to Annie and Rey to show off the jello shot spread and show off what they were missing (with an added text to Annie that went something along the lines of seriously, though, u good? do you need anything? everything cool?), and she just had to finish with the set up. There was some beer and sodas and whatever leftover liquor didn't go into the shots and wine (because France) and some moddable snacks, but, of course, most of the attention was in the jello shots, which included some apple cider ones featuring cider from the countryside and chocolate covered strawberries with chocolate from the local chocolatier. Pears made an appearance in the line up, as did pumpkin. Of course there was champagne, a chocolate eclair, and.....mac and cheese....but, you know, with fancy local cheeses, because that made it better.

Look, just because they were in France, didn't mean you were free from at least That One Shot.

So it was time to party! Chaperones only! Summer will pay Rosa good money to make sure students stay out.

(She would have roped Goose and Sidon into it, but she knew them both well enough to know that while they did cut impressive figures as bouncers, she was pretty sure they would just encourage just letting every one in).

So, Connor was definitely one of the newbies on the trip, both in regards to going on these school trips and just being one of the newer guys in town in general.

SWhen he heard about the party going on he decided to stop in, even just for a bit, to see what it was all about. Hell, he might even try and get Cutter to come make an appearance for a bit as well.

That meant there was Connor, showing up a bit after the texts had gone out, trying not to look as nervous as he felt. He really was terrible about these social events things.

"Hi, person I still don't know that much!" Summer greeted brightly when she spotted Connor and made sure to be a good hostess about it. "Thanks for coming! All the good stuff is over there on the table, seriously, help yourself, there is plenty."

Connor gave a small nod. "Thanks. It's Summer, right? The jello shot aficionado." He glanced over the table as if to confirm that and then faced Summer again with a small grin. "I'm Connor."

"Connor," Summer repeated, with a nod. "That's right. And yeah, I'm Summer, jello is my whole deal." Another gesture toward the offerings on display. "Obviously. You been enjoying the trip so far? You're not teaching, right? Who're you mooching off of?"

"Trip has been amazing so far. Spent most of my time in and around the Londo area so haven't ever been to France before." Connor paused for a moment to see if Cutter was there yet. "My mate Cutter is teaching. Asked me to be his plus one for the trip, and really... who turns down a free trip to France right?" he added with a smirk.

"Oh, I'm sure there's someone out there who would," Summer noted. "Some people are weird. But congratulations. You're taking part of a time-honored tradition for these school trips with your mooching; it's good to hear it's not just going to waste!"

"So, I take it these trips are a regular thing with the school then?" Connor asked as he eyed the jello shots, trying to decide which one to start with.

"One in the spring," Summer confirmed with a nod, "one in the fall, so over the years, I've been on a ton of them, and they're always great. Whoever's in charge of picking out the spots does a great job of finding some really locales with, like, just enough history or local culture thrown in to justify it being an educational trip, probably."

"So in other words, stay on my mate's good side for optimal mooching potential," Connor said with a laugh. "Cuz I am definitely not teacher material! Co-teacher maybe but even that might be pushing it." Though, considering Cutter's track record from back home, Connor might be better at it than he was giving himself credit for.

"Or at least make friends with some potential back-up in case things do go sour with your mate," Summer added with a grin. "But you might surprise yourself! I definitely wouldn't have ever thought I'd be the teaching type, but I've been doing it for a few years now."

Of course, the things Summer sometimes taught was...questionable, at best, but, hey! She was going to keep doing it for as long as they continued letting her!

Eventually Cutter did show up, still rather unsure about the party but he figured at least it didn’t matter if he drank a lot, it wasn’t like he had to teach class tomorrow morning.

“Uh ….hey,” he said as he spotted Connor and made his way over to him.

"Hey, ya made it!" Connor said with a grin when he saw his friend. He waved him over and nodded towards the shots table. "You gotta try some of these! They are amazing" he said with the grin of someone who might have already had one or two... or five of them himself.

Cutter was a bit more prepared this time and managed a grin as he walked over to the table, “and how many have you had so far?” he asked, noticing that grin.

Connor thought for a moment and counted on his fingers. "Ummm this one make six, I think?" he said holding up the last of the shots sitting in front of him.

“Then I’ll catch up,” Cutter said with a grin as he went for his first shot.

This was a very bad idea and probably going to involve at least one drunk call to Lester before the evening was out.

"Aye, provided you can, old man," Connor said with a teasing grin as he downed the last shot in front of him. "Who says I'm stopping at two rounds?"

Common sense Connor. Common sense was begging you to stop now.

“I do like a challenge,” Cutter grinned, downing the first shot and picking up another, “I did shots in university, I think I can remember how to do this,”

You weren’t 21 anymore Cutter there was a difference.

Hell, Connor wasn't even 21 anymore and he was going to be feeling it in the morning. Poor Lester was probably going to have to deal with both of them on the phone drunk calling him at some point that night.

"Alright, I'll take a break and let ya catch up. Be an advantage for me..." Connor tried to rationalize, though in reality, it would probably just give all the booze time to really start hitting by the time Cutter caught up.

Cutter was on his third shot by then, “I don’t think you have to wait to long,” he grinned, wincing a bit as he realised he tried a Mac and cheese shot.

“That one was different,” he blinked a bit, not that it stopped him from going for a different shot.

"Ah yeah, Summer likes to throw in some odd ones here and there," Connor said with a laugh. "Mac n Cheese is actually pretty safe for her."

Cutter wasn't sure if he wanted to know what other shots there were if Mac n Cheese was considered safe for her, "the shots must be pretty popular here," he had only ever tried a couple of them before but he could see how people would get carried by them.

"Yeah they go down easy, for the most part...". Connor gave an approving nod towards Cutter. "And you are doing pretty good there yourself. Think we need to line up some more shots.". Because really, was there really that much difference in 6 shots or 8.. not really... Probably... anyway, he was gonna grab a couple more for each of them.

"I'll drink to that," Cutter grinned, the few shots he'd had already had definitely started to hit ... he didn't hold his alcohol like he used to that was for sure, "thanks,"

Connor came back a few minutes later, somehow managing to balance four more jello shot glasses in his hands as he sat back down, sliding two over to Cutter.

"When I was over there," he said pointing toward the table with the jello shots, "I knew which ones these were. Now..." he looked at the four set out on the table in front of them and shook his head and gave a small shrug. "Now I don't remember."

“Well I suppose there’s only one way to find out,” Cutter grinned as he reached over to take the first shot, “cheers,” he raised the first of the shots and downed it, “I think that was cider,”
