Room 308; Wednesday Evening [10/12].

Ah, yes, what better way to follow up a day heavy on war stuff than a jello shot party in what was essentially a hotel room! But, look, the Wednesday night jello room parties were just a tradition at this point, and Summer practically centered the first half of her trips around making them happen, so she was going to be very disappointed if no one even bothered to show up.

She was going to have a very rough Thursday if she had to do all these jello shots by herself (minus the one or two she could convince Barry to choke down).

So the mass texts to everyone had been sent out, as well as texts to Annie and Rey to show off the jello shot spread and show off what they were missing (with an added text to Annie that went something along the lines of seriously, though, u good? do you need anything? everything cool?), and she just had to finish with the set up. There was some beer and sodas and whatever leftover liquor didn't go into the shots and wine (because France) and some moddable snacks, but, of course, most of the attention was in the jello shots, which included some apple cider ones featuring cider from the countryside and chocolate covered strawberries with chocolate from the local chocolatier. Pears made an appearance in the line up, as did pumpkin. Of course there was champagne, a chocolate eclair, and.....mac and cheese....but, you know, with fancy local cheeses, because that made it better.

Look, just because they were in France, didn't mean you were free from at least That One Shot.

So it was time to party! Chaperones only! Summer will pay Rosa good money to make sure students stay out.

(She would have roped Goose and Sidon into it, but she knew them both well enough to know that while they did cut impressive figures as bouncers, she was pretty sure they would just encourage just letting every one in).

That was a very safe bet, not having Goose being in charge of security because he was really a terrible chaperone when it came down to it.

Goose was definitely not missing the chance for jello shots, so of course he was there when he got the text message about the party.

“So you think I can get double shots tonight?” he asked hopefully when he turned up.

"Hell," said Summer, "you can have triple shots if you want."

She had, of course, went overboard again, and it was Goose, he could handle it.

"Seriously, though, help yourself. Enjoy. Thank you for coming!"

And hopefully he didn't even up getting maudlin or anything remembering the last school trip jello shot room party...

Goose had not made the connection with what happened at the last party, that would most likely happen once he had had a few dozen shots.

“Thank you for having the party, I wasn’t sure if there were going to be jello shots tonight,” he admitted, “I’m glad there are though, I’m looking forward to it,” he added.

“Oooh, I could definitely do triple shots,” his eyes were wide at that, not factoring in that he still had to make it back to his room and it might be a bit awkward since he was currently sharing the bed with Amaya.

Sorry Amaya.

On the one hand, at least everyone's rooms weren't too far away. On the other hand, Summer also fully supported crashing in her room tonight.

Especially if it got anyone away from that snoring.

"Just because we're on vacation," Summer stated proudly, "does not mean we should be deprived." She smiled up at Goose. "You having a good time so far, though?"

“I am, I'm glad I did end up coming on the trip,” Goose smiled back, “even though I wasn’t expecting on having to share a bed with anyone though,” he admitted.

Or rather sharing a bed with someone who wasn't Ignis.

Summer's brows lifted a little at that, as she reached over to pour herself more champagne because this felt like it was easily heading into 'enhanced with alcohol' territory for conversations.

"Who'd you end up with?" she asked, drinking as her brain went through the possible suspects and unable to avoid wondering it there was some potential hook-up potential there, even if this was possibly the eve of Ignis' return if the two-weeks theory was correct. This could get juicy.

“I ended up rooming with Amaya,” Goose told her, “I mean I know last time ended up being …” his voice trailed off a bit as he thought back to how he and Ignis had ended up rooming together and having to share the same bed, “er …” he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, maybe he should start in on the shots now.

“It’s taking some getting used to,” he admitted.

So, Connor was definitely one of the newbies on the trip, both in regards to going on these school trips and just being one of the newer guys in town in general.

SWhen he heard about the party going on he decided to stop in, even just for a bit, to see what it was all about. Hell, he might even try and get Cutter to come make an appearance for a bit as well.

That meant there was Connor, showing up a bit after the texts had gone out, trying not to look as nervous as he felt. He really was terrible about these social events things.

"Hi, person I still don't know that much!" Summer greeted brightly when she spotted Connor and made sure to be a good hostess about it. "Thanks for coming! All the good stuff is over there on the table, seriously, help yourself, there is plenty."

Somehow, Summer's eyebrows found just a little bit more room to lift on her forehead, as a little siren to abort that notion before it went anywhere went off in her head. Because that wouldn't be juicy, that would just be a mess.

"Yeah, I bet," said Summer, with an emphasis that still managed to feel like an understatement, and she very quickly found a cider shot to shove Goose's way.

"But, hey, just a place to crash, right? Plenty more other things on these trips to do."

Connor gave a small nod. "Thanks. It's Summer, right? The jello shot aficionado." He glanced over the table as if to confirm that and then faced Summer again with a small grin. "I'm Connor."

"Connor," Summer repeated, with a nod. "That's right. And yeah, I'm Summer, jello is my whole deal." Another gesture toward the offerings on display. "Obviously. You been enjoying the trip so far? You're not teaching, right? Who're you mooching off of?"

"Trip has been amazing so far. Spent most of my time in and around the Londo area so haven't ever been to France before." Connor paused for a moment to see if Cutter was there yet. "My mate Cutter is teaching. Asked me to be his plus one for the trip, and really... who turns down a free trip to France right?" he added with a smirk.

As much as he was enjoying gadding about with the locals in his spare time, Shunsui could hardly pass up on the chance to start his evening by dropping in on Summer-chan's little jello party and appreciate all the hard work she went into her delectable little craft. Maybe, depending on how long she planned to have it go on, he might use the promise of those jello shots as a good catalyst for bringing some new friends on board...

Actually, he was sort of surprised that he hadn't thought of this tactic before...

"Oh, I'm sure there's someone out there who would," Summer noted. "Some people are weird. But congratulations. You're taking part of a time-honored tradition for these school trips with your mooching; it's good to hear it's not just going to waste!"

"So, I take it these trips are a regular thing with the school then?" Connor asked as he eyed the jello shots, trying to decide which one to start with.

"One in the spring," Summer confirmed with a nod, "one in the fall, so over the years, I've been on a ton of them, and they're always great. Whoever's in charge of picking out the spots does a great job of finding some really locales with, like, just enough history or local culture thrown in to justify it being an educational trip, probably."

Summer sighed, not at all surprised to see Shunsui there (and, honestly, she probably would have been disappointed if he didn't show up, not that she'd ever admit to that). "Shunsui," she greeted, simply enough. "Enjoying your trip so far?"

"So in other words, stay on my mate's good side for optimal mooching potential," Connor said with a laugh. "Cuz I am definitely not teacher material! Co-teacher maybe but even that might be pushing it." Though, considering Cutter's track record from back home, Connor might be better at it than he was giving himself credit for.

"Or at least make friends with some potential back-up in case things do go sour with your mate," Summer added with a grin. "But you might surprise yourself! I definitely wouldn't have ever thought I'd be the teaching type, but I've been doing it for a few years now."

Of course, the things Summer sometimes taught was...questionable, at best, but, hey! She was going to keep doing it for as long as they continued letting her!

Stark had said he'd be there (for the jello) and so of course he was there (for Summer).

"Hello, Summer. It looks good." He hadn't seen the mac and cheese shots yet, obviously.

"Hello, Stark," said Summer, instantly preening, although she did wonder if he was saying that without having noticed the mac and cheese shots. "And of course it does."

She then gave him a faint grin as she added, "I'm glad I don't have to give you withering and disappointed looks and sigh a lot all day tomorrow. Thank you."

The desire and need to find a good excuse to crash in Summer's room after her party this time around wasn't nearly as strong (although not without its appeal during this trip, either), but still, Amaya could hardly not show up for it, that would just be rude, although how long she decided to stick around was a matter of uncertainty, but she would tell you (perhaps a little too insistently) that such a decision would have nothing to do with who else may or may not show up.

Summer's eyes did not bounce briefly between Amaya and her current roommate with a somewhat worried expression as she considered how this woman could also put down her jello shots. Really. Not. At. All.

"Amaya," she said, greeting her with a nod. "Good to see you. Having a nice trip so far?"

"I wasn't willing to risk that," Stark said. "I don't want you disappointed."

And they might need to do something else tomorrow, you never knew!
