Room 308; Wednesday Evening [10/12].

Ah, yes, what better way to follow up a day heavy on war stuff than a jello shot party in what was essentially a hotel room! But, look, the Wednesday night jello room parties were just a tradition at this point, and Summer practically centered the first half of her trips around making them happen, so she was going to be very disappointed if no one even bothered to show up.

She was going to have a very rough Thursday if she had to do all these jello shots by herself (minus the one or two she could convince Barry to choke down).

So the mass texts to everyone had been sent out, as well as texts to Annie and Rey to show off the jello shot spread and show off what they were missing (with an added text to Annie that went something along the lines of seriously, though, u good? do you need anything? everything cool?), and she just had to finish with the set up. There was some beer and sodas and whatever leftover liquor didn't go into the shots and wine (because France) and some moddable snacks, but, of course, most of the attention was in the jello shots, which included some apple cider ones featuring cider from the countryside and chocolate covered strawberries with chocolate from the local chocolatier. Pears made an appearance in the line up, as did pumpkin. Of course there was champagne, a chocolate eclair, and.....mac and cheese....but, you know, with fancy local cheeses, because that made it better.

Look, just because they were in France, didn't mean you were free from at least That One Shot.

So it was time to party! Chaperones only! Summer will pay Rosa good money to make sure students stay out.

(She would have roped Goose and Sidon into it, but she knew them both well enough to know that while they did cut impressive figures as bouncers, she was pretty sure they would just encourage just letting every one in).

"Especially if you do tonight right," said Summer, who had no doubt that Irene could not only approach a party like this properly, but do it with a certain class and style that Summer could only dream of achieving, and she gave her a smile. "Hi, Irene. It's good to see you."

It was good to see anyone at any of her parties, but those a slight step away from the usual ruffians were always particularly nice.

It was a very intimate gathering, which Irene both appreciated (she was not actually a huge fan of parties like the upcoming horrible holiday jumper thing, since there was a lack of control in play there) and also vaguely resented because it meant she wouldn't blend in at all.

But, really, she didn't blend in much on the island, either. Just more of the same.

"You know you're supposed to be enjoying your holiday, Summer -- not making jelly shots for us all 'round the clock," she teased, going so far as to even tsk.

"It's hardly around the clock," Summer insisted, maybe adopting just a bit of loftiness just by virtue of talking to Irene, grinning as she shook her head a little. "And I do actually enjoy making them. Especially when I can really go all out and use local stuff, I'm a sucker for a theme, and that involves shopping, which I'm pretty sure I'll never not enjoy. Besides, really, half the work is just throwing them into a fridge and waiting for them to set, so it's not like it even took all day."

Just getting up stupid early in the morning to get started on them and still get to squeeze in some other things for the day, but clearly it had been worth it.

"Shopping is always a good activity," Irene had to agree. "And really, the cheese and chocolate is the best these little villages have to offer, aren't they? So good on you for making the most of your shopping potential."

Irene was going to have to take a Parisian trip on her own time, clearly. A day was nowhere near enough time for the damage she had wanted to inflict on her credit card.

Yeah, Summer had definitely tried to do as much damage to Barry's credit card in the short time they were there, too.

Which may have included another bridesmaids dress.

But, well....come on. If you had a chance to have your bridesmaids dress be from Paris, it would practically be insulting not to!

She smiled happily at the praise, with a little appreciative lift of her chin. "I do like to incorperate some of the local culture when I can."
