Well, after tonight, Summer could finally stop stressing out about Annie's Bachelorette Party and start stressing out about the Wedding Proper (although, really, this was Annie they were talking about, clearly things were taken care of and covered, but Summer felt it was her duty, as maid of honor, to flail at least a little bit extra, just in case). So that was nice! And in clear defiance of any accusations of dick-themed shenanigans or planets covered in nothing but either jello or boobs, she had a seriously Classy As Fuck evening planned for everyone, because Annie was a Classy Ass Lady and this was all about her, anyway.

Besides, Summer Smith, contrary to popular belief, did know how to read a room. Sometimes.

Which was why this particular party was not being kicked off in a strip club or night club or even just a bar....but at a quaint farm/apple orchard just north of Baltimore.

Bet you didn't have that one on your bingo card!

"This is the cutest thing we could possibly be doing!" Annie decided in abject, obvious glee.

Between her hat, her sash, the overall thoughtfulness of all of this, and how she was feeling from the shots -- dancing seemed like the best idea possible, and this was so, so much more fun than some sweaty club where she'd have to fend off guys with too much aftershave.

(Though. Like. This group would have no problem with that.)

"Come on," Allison said, holding out her hand. "Dance with me."

"I'm so glad I'm marrying into a dancing family," Annie told her, eagerly taking that offered hand with a bright smile.

Even aside from being an early thing she'd found (and still found) attractive about Diego, it was also just a great vibe to be around people who liked to dance.

"If there's one thing we can agree on as siblings," Allison started, leading Annie out to the dance floor. "it's that dancing is appropriate at all times."

"I wish I'd figured out how universally true that was a little sooner," Annie admitted. "Dancing just defuses things."

Like, maybe Luther and Diego could have just danced their feelings out during that funeral? She hadn't known that could have been a solution at the time!

"Happy early birthday, by the by."

"Thanks," Allison said with a grin. "I officially have no idea how old any of us really are anymore."

That bothered her less than she thought it would.

"Yeah, the time travel thing makes it confusing," Annie admitted. And to think, this time last year she'd only been confused by Five's age. "But it's got to be nice to have everyone back together for the date, at least."

Even if the, like, number of candles involved might be kind of flexible because no one was sure.

"Yeah," Allison said, moving to twirl Annie. "It'll be nice. I'll be the first time since Five disappeared."

So over a decade, no matter how old you were.

And considering how October 1, 2021 had turned out, Annie was thrilled to have them all under one roof for Diego's sake. (And her own, but last year's birthday had clearly been hard on him for one transparent, obvious, she-should-have-realized reason.)

"Anything you want for your birthday?" Annie asked lightly. "Other than to get to twirl your sister-in-law around."

Annie was officially dropping the 'to-be' part, at the moment. Shots, dancing and proximity to the wedding could be credited.

"For my birthday I want you to enjoy your wedding," Allison said with a grin. "We can worry about what I want after that."

"This is just setting you up to get something really good for Christmas, then," Annie replied, trying to make it sound like a threat and mostly just...making it sound like a good time, honestly.

Even if she couldn't exactly give Allison what she wanted (not that Annie knew what that might be, precisely, anyway) -- she was very inclined to try on that front.

Especially after how she (and all the Hargreeves, really) had banded together for this wedding.

"Oh, good luck with that," Allison joked. "Now you have to shop for so many more people."

Probably why they didn't celebrate Christmas growing up. Too much of a pain in the ass to get that many gifts.

"Oh nooooo," Annie replied, rolling her eyes exaggeratedly with a smile. "You guys don't really know how hard I throw down for the holidays yet."

But they would. Even if, weirdly, they'd all probably have plans or something the night of the third annual Christmas rager.
