So, the whole space part of Summer's plan for Annie's party didn't exactly pan out the way she was hoping. Part of her conversation with Lucifer on Wednesday had turned out to be somewhat prophetic, as one for her choices for location had conveniently decided to start a galactic civil war with their moon colonies, and the other place, apparently, didn't even exist anymore. The best guess was that it somehow involved Cromulans, which meant that planet was pretty much space dust now, which meant that Summer could pretty much kiss her deposit on that venue good-bye.

Which was fine! If she couldn't still pull together a more terrestrial party at the last minute, then she truly should just hang up her party crown now and retire in shame. So emails and texts went out, the gnomes at Portalocity would hopefully cooperate in sharing the news with anyone who showed up expecting to head elsewhere, that the party was relocated. And Summer was going to just use her own place for the cause, but, really, through the ensuing chain of events in preparation that morning, she remembered that Diego's apartment was pretty much literally right across the hall and easily twice as large.

So Diego's apartment it was!

Honestly, as boyfriend, it was literally the least he could do.

But because it was a little last minute and Summer didn't have the benefit of foisting at least half the cleaning duties on an NPC bartender like she could at Caritas, the decorations were a bit more...restrained. Oh, sure, there was still going to be glitter everywhere and every corner that Summer had access to was decked out in stars, but the mood was much different, trying to go for something a little more elegent in mood, with starlights draped out on the balcony, draped over doors, and projected over the walls and ceiling.

Look, if they couldn't make it out to space due to galactic conflict and super harsh critics with planet-exploding capabilities, they could at least try to bring the space to them.

Danny gave him a once over. "Pretty sure you could hula with the best of 'em."

He'd drag Danny into it, wouldn't he?

"I do not hula alone," Steve told him.

"Awww, you sure, babe?"

"You will be hulaing right along with me, Danno," Steve said, "and I'll call the therapist and tell her all about our teambuilding exercise."

"You would not." Oh, but wouldn't he?

"Oh, watch me," Steve threatened.

"You know I can get you back for this."

"I thought communication was important, Danno," Steve said innocently.

"I'll schedule the appointment then," Danny offered, knowing full well what Steve was doing here.

Danny, you're not supposed to call him on his bullshit! That's not how this works!

Steve came very close to pouting. "Fine."

Danny smirked and looked away. "You'll enjoy it."

"I will not," Steve said.

"I'll enjoy it," Danny corrected.

"That's not the same thing at all," Steve told him.

"Just be glad she didn't give you homework, babe," Danny replied dryly. Because it would happen. Oh, it would happen.

"She wouldn't do that!" Steve said, looking shocked. "What kind of homework could there even be?"

"Journaling, suggested reading... could be an activity," Danny replied. "Why do you think I do the listing of the Yankees thing? Had to come up with an activity to focus on in high stress situations so I don't just--"

He gestured vaguely at his own temple.

"--fizz out."

He meant hyperventilate or something equally embarrassing.

Steve was now shoving aside all of those not-so-fun memories of being stuck in a collapsed garage.

"That worked really well, Danno."

"That kinda homework," Danny replied, meeting Steve's gaze.

"I know how to do that already," Steve said. "Not with sports stats, though."

Name, rank, serial number. Totally normal.

Oh yeah, not concerning at all.

"That's a sort of specific to my stuff example. There might be other things for you," Danny suggested. "Or us things, I guess."

"Us things?" Steve replied a little trepidatiously.

"It's couple's therapy. It's gonna address our relationship." He meant in the professional capacity.

"I still don't see why that's the governor's business," Steve huffed.

"Politics," Danny replied. "It's better than the alternative."
