So, the whole space part of Summer's plan for Annie's party didn't exactly pan out the way she was hoping. Part of her conversation with Lucifer on Wednesday had turned out to be somewhat prophetic, as one for her choices for location had conveniently decided to start a galactic civil war with their moon colonies, and the other place, apparently, didn't even exist anymore. The best guess was that it somehow involved Cromulans, which meant that planet was pretty much space dust now, which meant that Summer could pretty much kiss her deposit on that venue good-bye.

Which was fine! If she couldn't still pull together a more terrestrial party at the last minute, then she truly should just hang up her party crown now and retire in shame. So emails and texts went out, the gnomes at Portalocity would hopefully cooperate in sharing the news with anyone who showed up expecting to head elsewhere, that the party was relocated. And Summer was going to just use her own place for the cause, but, really, through the ensuing chain of events in preparation that morning, she remembered that Diego's apartment was pretty much literally right across the hall and easily twice as large.

So Diego's apartment it was!

Honestly, as boyfriend, it was literally the least he could do.

But because it was a little last minute and Summer didn't have the benefit of foisting at least half the cleaning duties on an NPC bartender like she could at Caritas, the decorations were a bit more...restrained. Oh, sure, there was still going to be glitter everywhere and every corner that Summer had access to was decked out in stars, but the mood was much different, trying to go for something a little more elegent in mood, with starlights draped out on the balcony, draped over doors, and projected over the walls and ceiling.

Look, if they couldn't make it out to space due to galactic conflict and super harsh critics with planet-exploding capabilities, they could at least try to bring the space to them.

"Not a priest, right," Lucifer said, nodding. "But something spiritual with the afterlife."

Had he forgotten traumatizing Stark about that? Probably.

"So what do you think the chances are of the glitter spreading and overtaking the entire island at this rate?"

"A Stykera," Stark supplied. "Yes, something with the afterlife. Which you told me for you is a physical location." But how did that work? It didn't make sense!

"As for the glitter...I think if left unchecked it could happen. Especially with Summer here, and her glitter cannon." They were probably tempting fate now. The island could be listening. Glitter avalanches could be imminent!

"It is a physical location," Lucifer agreed, "Of a sort that would be mightly improved with a glitter cannon-- did you say glitter cannon?"

Stark started to protest that whole idea again but thought better of it.

"Summer has a glitter cannon," he said instead, nodding. "If she tried I'm sure she could cover at least most of the island. I don't think she would...but she could."

"She would," Lucifer decided, "At least, if she'd decided the entire island was her party space. And I wouldn't be able to argue with her for it. Might actually liven up this disastrous hovel."

"It's hardly a 'disastrous hovel,'" Stark said. "Is it? And lively enough." Last week had been very lively and then followed by adorable children! This week he hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

"Though covering the entire island in glitter would add some excitement." The poor Fandom wildlife.

"It's an incredibly small island with an implausible amount of take-out restaurants and an extremely tiny population," Lucifer said, "Which traumatizes its citizens at least once a month. Glitter is preferable."

"It's better than nearly everywhere else I've lived," Stark countered. "And I'm not the sure the glitter would stop any of the...events. Just add sparkle."

"Clearly, someone needs to take you somewhere civilized one day," Lucifer informed him. "I suggest LA."

"The island seems civilized to me," Stark said. "Nobody here's tried to kill me or claimed to own me. Plenty of supposedly civilized places where they would."

They probably had very different ideas of civilization.

"What's in LA? I don't travel much. Tend to stand out, here."

"Oh, you know, everything," Lucifer said, grinning. "Beaches, sun, Hollywood stars, miles of excellent restaurants, clubs and bars. Life in general."

"We have some of that here," Stark pointed out. On a much, much smaller scale. "Not all of it. Were you there before?"
