Room 311; Saint James, Barbados; Wednesday Evening [02/16] - Wednesday Night Room Party!

One of the things Summer loved about these tropical school trips is that the making jello shots from local products to really celebrate the place they were visiting during her Wednesday Room Party was sooooo freaking easy. And Barbados had some great options, so, after spending a day of setting it up and getting snacks and other drinks for everyone to enjoy, she was ready to open her door and invite people in for yet another successful room party!

Snacks were moddable and danced that line between typical party fare and local inspirations, and the same could be said for the beer, soda, and stuff for mixing drinks. The jello shots, though, were obviously the stars of the show: passion fruit and prosecco and passion fruit and rum (from yesterday's distillery tour, even!), mango and pineapple and coconut. Even some avocado and something spicy with some local scotch bonnet peppers, and some more with rum, one with root beer and one with ginger beer.

But that starfruit punch was probably her best worst idea ever.

Whatever, it was Wednesday on a school trip! The room was actually really great for this sort of thing, too! Come party it up and regret some decisions in the morning! It's fine, you've still got plenty of days of vacation recovery time left!

Stewart had been surprised that Summer had actually agreed to the idea of letting him bring in his rented equipment to DJ for her room party, with the caveat that he just kept the volume levels down to a level where the management of the hotel wasn't going to complain, which was...fair enough, he supposed. He could definitely keep things down to a sort of atmospheric ambiance, even if that meant having to sacrifice some of the thumping bass that really made his type of house and EDM music thrive and drive.

It would still be very heavy on that house and EDM music, just sort of...muted. And he was going to try to work with that as sort of an artistic statement. And also a lot of 311, because he thought that was funny.

He might also take requests, but, depending on what the request is....probably not.

Rey was not going to need a recovery day, but she was of course going to a Summee room party.

And knowing that you'd only have one or two of the shots meant she got to really check them out in order to decide which to take.

Even though the need for it had gone down substantially since the old days of these school trip room parties, it still felt pretty traditional for Gladio to be tapped as a 'bouncer,' and he was happy to keep up with the tradition. Even if it pretty much just meant stationing himself up by the door with a beer to keep an eye on things and making sure anyone who really had a good time got back to their rooms (or wherever they were crashing) safely, or pretty much just being amused in general by everyone's antics.

Well, at least until Nell maybe dragged him away, anyway.

One thing that was great about a room party over a typical Wednesday at Caritas was that Summer didn't have a bar between herself and her friends, so when she spotted Rey, it meant she could go up and give her a hug right out the gate.

"Rey! You made it! Please have a few jello shots! How've you been liking the trip so far?"

It was Stark's room so of course he was there. Not that not staying in this room would have stopped him anyway. Wednesdays were important.

"I'm not sure about the spicy ones," he admitted to Summer. "But it all looks very nice. As always."

Through the years, Ignis had developed quite an...interesting relationship with these room parties of Summer's, and of course he'd be stopping by, and he would probably have just a bit too many of those jello shots, which at this point just seemed as much a tradition for them as Gladio's role as a 'bouncer.'

But no, he did not exactly intend on staying too long, but making an appearance was, at the very least, a must.

"The spicy ones," she allowed, "are pretty spicy, so that's fair, but there's a lot of them I think you'll still like." She grinned over at Stark and leaned a little on his shoulder. "But thanks. It better look nice, with all the work I put into it."

The party going well would be nice, but it was already paying off with the numbers her posts about the shots were getting on her socials.

"I'm having fun," she said, hugging Summer back. "It's a little more relaxed than I'm used to. How's yours been?"

"You always do well with these," Stark pointed out. "Because you're good at parties."

And so many other things too.

"Also..."

Sure, he'd been around to be helpful when needed but a kiss hello was still traditional and therefore important. And a kiss hello without a bar in the way was even better than usual. Much more thorough.

"Hi."

"A little more relaxed than you're used to is exactly what I've been saying you could use more of, anyway," Summer pointed out with a snort. "And it's been great! I mean, kind of hard not to be with that beach and I'm really looking forward to some dancing and music for the weekend."

"Mmm." Yeah, not having a bar there did make a lot of things easier, something Summer was clearly grateful for in that moment. "No, not yet. Probably tomorrow. For now?"

She grabbed two of the passion fruit and prosecco shots, one for him and one for herself, then lifted hers in a toast.

"Let's fucking party!" she declared, and dismantled that shot's entire existence with expert efficiency.

"There's dancing and music for the weekend?" Rey asked.

"Let's fucking party," Stark echoed, grinning at her as he lifted his own jello. He knew she enjoyed it when he said that. Then the shot disappeared quickly.

"I like this room for a party. With the 2 levels."

That sounded like a challenge, Rey's narrative!

"You're here. Good. Hello, Rey."

"I said I would," she said with a smile. "How'd your vacation?"

An appearance, yes, but they certainly wouldn't be closing the party out. At some point, he would be whispering in Liliana's ear that he wished to be with her and only her tonight, as that was now tradition, too.

But until then...

"These mango jello shots are quite good, even if they pale in comparison to eating slices directly from your fingers," she purred, leaning against him.

Liliana enjoyed these room parties of Summer's, especially when they weren't sullied by either the presence of That Vampire, or a derelict theme park where they sold replicas of Cloak Boy's stupid cloak.

The rum was quite good, too. Rum was generally not her spirit of choice, but perhaps she'd need to make time for a visit to the distillery after all.

"I like it here," Stark said. "It's beautiful and I'm very glad to be warm for a few days. You're enjoying it too, I hope?"

"Hi, everyone," Steve said with a little smile as he headed for the drinks.

Sorry distilleries couldn't all just be wineries.

"Heyyyy, Liliana!" Summer beamed to see her. "Thanks for swinging by!"

She knew how she and Ignis were, she could assume how this was going to go.

"How do you like Barbados?"

"Steeeeeve!" Summer was never not disappointed to see him or to get the chance to greet him in that way. "Hi! You made it! Come on in, grab some jello and snacks or whatever, have you been enjoying the trip?"

Hey now. Distilleries had their place! Like making brandy, which was distilled from wine.

"I'm very much enjoying it," Liliana said with a smile. "Tropical paradises are far more my preference than the dreary dregs of winter."

Or not-so-dregs. Hunter's Moon in Innistrad lasted months, ugh, and was still going strong.

"And yourself, darling?"

"I should hope," said Ignis, leaning into a grin in much the same way he leaned into Liliana in response, "that the same would apply to most foods. Could you pick one out for me, my dear? As well as any others that seem worth my while?"

"Hello Steve, darling," Liliana said, waggling her fingers at him. "Enjoying your vacation?'

"I am! It's slower than I'm used to, so it's a bit of an adjustment."

Yes, the more reason to take a vacation.
