The Dimension Ruled by the Giant Telepathic Spiders (IC-911); Thursday Evening [07/11].
So this was finally a thing that was happening.
Summer had gone and whisked Stark away to that one dimension where she was not only irreparably traumatized by an absolute terrorist of a sentient ship, but that was also, in the process of that trauma, taken over by giant telepathic spiders.
Ahhh. Good times!
But, anyway, this was also the dimension that Summer developed a taste for flies in her ice cream, because that was a big favorite of the giant telepathic spiders, and this dimension had the best Ball Fondlers movies out of literally any dimension that Summer had ever been to, so after catching the latest one on the big screen, they hopped over to the usual ice cream place, where the staff greeted Summer on clearly very familiar terms. She waved and greeted them back, and told them it would be a minute while they decided, it was Stark's first time! And then she slipped her hand into his and leaned on him a little as she scanned over the menu, which had almost everything you'd expect from a classic ice cream joint, except that everything had flies.
Which was why Stark was also getting a light kiss on the cheek, too. "Take your time," she allowed. "I know there's a lot choose from. I mean, fly sundae? Fly milkshake? Fly-sprinkled ice cream cone? Fly ice cream sandwich...."
Yes, she knew this probably wasn't helping.

"Do you have a favorite?" he asked. "Or recommendations?"
It was his first time. Be gentle.
"Not a milkshake, I think." Choking on a fly sucked through a straw would be so embarrassing. "But maybe a sundae. Chocolate ice cream and whipped cream and...flies?"

It might be cute, okay?
"You were right, about the movie. They are better here."

"Neapolitin sundae, then," she decided, "vanilla, chocolate, strawberry ice creams, with lots of chocolate sauce, peanuts, and, of course, whipped cream. Sharing size.
"Wanna go grab a seat and I'll order it and then we can talk about how Fulgora dive-bombing into the ocean from the razor-blade-machine-gun chopper while wrestling with Dr. Definitely-Not-Sharks-For-Arms mid-air was easily the best part, and that, ohmygod, I so told you so, didn't I?"
no subject
"I'll go sit."
He had a feeling she might be ordering extra flies as soon as his back was turned. He was mostly fine with that. They were on a space fly ice cream date to avoid morning squirrels. Life was good.
He found a table near the door and window so he could do a little people (or spider? Spider-people?) watching.

She was just sweet-talking her way into getting extra flies for free.
Outside the window, save for the occasional giant telepathic spider crawling around or dropping into view, it looked like any busy street in any American town after a big blockbuster movie let out in the theater just down the street. In the parking lot, a few kids (both human and arachnid alike) who were probably way too young for that level of gore were running around and play-acting some of their own favorite scenes. The shop itself was pretty bustling as well, but it didn't take long for Summer to return, setting down a large and loaded sundae and handing Stark a spoon as she sat down across from him.
"Another nice thing about this dimension," she said, "you save so much time when all you have to do is think your order and the scooper has eight limbs."
no subject
Or, you know, run off with a spider.
"All right then. Time for ice cream. With flies."
He lifted his spoon, hesitated only for a moment, then dug into the sundae for a spoonful that was at least half whipped cream but definitely still contained a bit of everything else including, yes, the flies.
"Cheers?" Was this an occasion for cheers-ing? It seemed like it might be. It was said, in any case, and then he was putting the spoon in his mouth.

And just imagine what else you could do with eight limbs!
"Cheers," said Summer, resolutely, because, yes, this was cause for cheers and she dug into a big spoonful of strawberry for a bit and oh-so-casually watching Stark for any indication of initial, completely unedited thoughts.

"They don't really taste like much," Stark said after a moment. "They're just...texture?"
Texture he wasn't entirely sold on at the moment but he was taking another spoonful.

She shrugged, taking another bite and licking the excess of the spoon. "We eat a bunch of stuff that's pretty much just as bad pretty regularly. Besides....it's only texture. It's also good for protien.
"You know," she now smirked around that spoon, "for energy."
And it might have been a little bit of suggestive overkill to then stretch out her foot underneath the table to brush against Stark's leg, but they just got done watching two straight hours of some of the most masterful action movie bullshit ever put to film that was bound to make an adrenaline junkie feel a kind of way. It was important that Stark didn't miss this broadcast.

"Extra protein is good," he said, swallowing hard and taking another bite of ice cream and catching her gaze. "I wouldn't want to run out of energy."
He had plenty right now.

And now, whenever Stark thought of fly ice cream, he would also think of sex, thus forever (or at least until the now seemingly inevitable break up) establishing a positive association with it!
God, she was so good at this!

"Do we?" Stark asked, eyebrow raised. He took another bite, trying to get all three flavors of ice cream in one go. "I like the sound of that."
