MHA #4; Wednesday Evening [02/14].
Summer was, once again, shirking her duties at Caritas for something a little more private and exclusive, and Tino was going to have to get over it and it wasn't her fault that he didn't have anything better to do for Valetnine's Day that evening, unlike her, who definitely did, and if he wanted her there that evening, well, he should have enticed her there with a better off than getting high and making dinner and then probably having way too much of whatever dessert Stark was bringing, which would be worth it, because of course he was going to try and go all out with it to impress her.
So after warning Tino that she was blocking his number and if there was a bar emergency, he should maybe try calling, oh, she didn't know, their boss instead, she went back to getting everything set out and ready for what they would need to whip up the (literally) cheesy Valentine's day inspired recipe she found that Stark would appreciate because he was a nerd, some garlic knots to go with it, and, like, a salad, so it wasn't all just 'yes, we're literally just eating cheese and bread for dinner.'
But, look, that cheese and bread was going to be insane once those gummies kicked in.

A nerd who was knocking on the door while holding a covered cake holder in one hand with a smallish gift bag in the other.

"Hello, Stark," she greeted, before stepping back. "Come on in."
no subject
Just in case Summer had somehow not noticed the bright pink and sparkly gift bag when looking right at it.
"Happy Valentine's Day?"
no subject
"What'd you bring for dessert?" she asked, nodding at the cake holder now, too, as she lead Stark toward the kitchen where the aforementioned items awaited. "Or do I have to wait to find out? Also, do I have to wait for the present, too?"
no subject
There was that soft smile.
"And you don't have to wait unless you want to. Presents or cake first?"
He set both on the counter and looked at her expectantly.

Feeling a little frustrated with the sealing on the package, she brought it to her mouth to see if her teeth could have better luck than her fingers, then realized that was probably a good way to hurt her teeth and tried again.
"We're having--goddammit, why do they make these things so hard to open? I swear to god, that YouTube ad, where the mom freaks out because her kid sees her weed gummies and is all 'oooh candy!' is bullshit, because there is no way a kid is getting these--"
Then she managed to get it. "Finally. Anyway, we're making, like, pizza fondue."
And she tipped a couple of the gummies into her palm and held it out for Stark to take one.

He would have been happy with anything she came up with, of course, but this did sound great.
"And the sound of these," he added, grinning as he picked one up and popped it into his mouth before picking the body bag containing a bottle and the rose he'd made yesterday.
no subject
Summer grinned a little as she took the bag and rifled through it. The rose got a little bit of an awww as she looked it over, and she was about to ask whether or not Stark got it from Amaya or made it himself in shop class when the shape of the rest of the present caught her attention and she pulled out the bottle for a closer look.
"Oh. My. God. Doritos booze? I bet this is absolutely disgusting."
A beat.
"I cannot wait to try it."
She would, of course, because she didn't want to ruin their dinner, but she was going to give Stark a fond smile as she held the bottled to her chest for a moment before leaning in to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Stark. Now I really do feel bad for not getting you something in return."
no subject
He could say something about how she was the only present he needed but that would be a bit much and he knew it. Besides he was fairly certain Summer knew exactly how he felt.
"I'm glad you like it. I thought you needed to try it and maybe put it in jello next week? And I made the flower. In class. Would you like to see the cake?"
no subject
no subject
"We can wait then, until after dinner. And have some nacho chip flavored alcohol now."
Of course he also wanted to try it. It was just so bizarre sounding he had to.
"And then cook?"
no subject
She picked up one glass and handed the other to Stark and went to clink them together.
"Cheers."
no subject
Unless it would be very, very funny and even then he would have a backup dessert.
He hesitated for a very brief moment, wondering if he ought to make a different toast, then just smiled and echoed "cheers" before taking a sip.
"It's...odd."
no subject
"Is it really not that bad," she wondered, "or are my tastebuds just broken at this point?"
no subject
He grinned again and set his glass down. "But this week, tonight, I get you all to myself. Should we cook? Are those pepperoni shaped like hearts?"
no subject
"And they are! That's hoe they had it on the picture, so of course I had to do it, too."
She loved a theme, goddammit, and how cute was it doing to look on her Insta?
"And we've also got stuff for garlic knots to dip into the pizza and a salad, too."
no subject
"It sounds perfect," Stark said. "Thank you. I've never made a garlic knot. I've eaten them from Raiden. What's first?"
He paused, then stepped in. "This?" Look, it was time for a kiss. One that tasted of Dorito booze.
no subject
And maybe that's what made her linger on returning it that went well past it having anything to do with Doritos-flavored alcohol.
"Well, I was going to say preheating the oven and getting the dough or cheese mix going, but this works, too."
no subject
"The oven can preheat while we do this," he pointed out, not pulling away at all but rather settling a hand on her waist to keep her close.
"Or we could start the dough."
