Room 106; Wednesday Evening - Summer's School Trip Room Party! [10/18].

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Queenstown, allegedly an adventure capital of the world, but it was Wednesday, so once everyone'd gotten their adventure on, it was obviously time to swing by Summer's room for her traditional School Trip Room Party, to get wasted on all sorts of moddable booze and jello shots and have at least a few regrets the next morning, if you were doing it right.

So there were snacks. There were beers. There was, okay, okay, even some wine because there were some snobs in the crowd she expected and also, she liked to keep it local and New Zealand did do some wines or whatever. There was a curated playlist, of course, and Rosa and Gladio were reprising their traditional roles as bouncers, although Summer wasn't entirely sure how that was going to play out now that the school was catering to an older, more party-aged demographic, but she supposed maybe that just meant they were to be arbiters of making sure nothing got weird? It was new territory! They'd figure it out!

But, most importantly of all, there was a wide variety of jello shots on display for the taking: kiwi two ways, layered with melon or straight up but served in kiwi cups; honey lemonade made with local mānuka honey, sweet potato cinnamon, chocolate covered cherry using Whittaker's Chocolates of course; and a variety of just basic flavors but adorably in the shape of sheep.

Look, the other option was a jello shot with actual lamb in it, so consider yourself mildly lucky.

So looks like now all she needed....was people to show up!

Sure,it was going to get pretty crowded in this room once they did, but honestly? That gave it the best classic room party vibes to have a bunch of people shoved into an otherwise cozy room.

[[ open for all trip-goers, of course! Faculty members got a special, handwaved mass-text invite, too! No OCD, just go hog wild, and please to excuse my inevitable flaky SP because I got a LOT going on right now omg, but The Room Party(TM) must go on! All predicated on the assumption that wherever we'll be will in fact be conducive to a room party, but if not, it may be edited to suit ]]

"He kept sneaking into the hotel rooms early to hog the bed," Atton shared. "So I made sure there were consequences."

He'd probably have to beg to sleep on Lana's floor tonight if he didn't want to be murdered, but it was worth it.

For this sight, he could have the bed and Lana would sleep on her floor.

She toasted him. "May his hair products not remove it for at least a week."
suitably_heroic: (lsp: so what are we...?)

"If he tries real hard he'll probably get the dye out in a few days," Atton said, toasting back. "The glitter, on the other hand..."

"Persists worse than bantha stench," Lana finished. "And is less likely to affect anyone near him."

Unless they were getting very close, in which case it was their own lookout.

"My little homage to a friend long gone," Atton sighed. "Who would've loved to have seen this."

He glanced at Lana. "Though can I ask you for asylum for the night?"

Lana grinned. "Absolutely. Though I feel I should mention I am sharing with a Mandalorian. Actually," she thought about it, "Sabine probably has plenty of hair dye herself if you need more."

This could not end badly.

"I think we're probably good for now," Atton said, and pulled a face. "And as long as your Mandalorian doesn't carry any grudges, that's fine."

"She's from closer to Skywalker's time than ours," Lana assured him. "And she went to school on Fandom, so she's well acquainted with time oddities. The Sith in her time are terrible, but we used to date."
suitably_heroic: (dsp: thoughtful)

[personal profile] suitably_heroic 2023-10-19 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh," Atton said, raising his eyebrows. "Interesting."
unusual_sith: (adult - grin)

[personal profile] unusual_sith 2023-10-19 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Lana grinned. "So is she. Though I'm still learning what she's like now; it's been ten years. And you know how much can change in our galaxy in that time."
suitably_heroic: (dsp: whaddayawant?)

[personal profile] suitably_heroic 2023-10-19 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Depends on the era," Atton noted. "I came to Fandom in the middle of one war and then when I got dragged back home, well, ten years later and everyone was still riding out the waves of that whole thing."

[personal profile] unusual_sith 2023-10-19 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Lana grimaced. "Well, she came here the first time in the aftermath of one, and has been in another since then. I don't know all the details yet."

She huffed. "You know, as much as I've been trying to learn and branch out from my preconceptions, I'm finding it really hard to let go of 'peace is a lie', at least back home."
suitably_heroic: (lsp: this looks cool on earth!)

[personal profile] suitably_heroic 2023-10-19 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"So did I," Atton said, faux-cheerfully. "It's why I'm now in therapy and spend my weekends singing cover songs in bars in an attempt to 'chill out', or whatever the kids call it these days."

"Do they help?" Lana asked curiously. "Not that I'm likely to do well at therapy. Or much of a singer." No, she wrote poetry. Much more her speed.

At least she had an actual creative outlet. Atton was starting to build a pet theory that the only Force users from their galaxy who didn't lose their minds eventually were the ones who, like, picked up crochet or dance or poetry or any kind of creative hobby whatsoever.

"They do," he said. "Frankly, I think if more people from our galaxy tried at least one of those things, we'd waste a lot less time trying to kill each other."
unusual_sith: (adult - devious)

[personal profile] unusual_sith 2023-10-19 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Except for possibly our therapists," Lana said wryly. "But you're not wrong," she conceded. "I think a good outlet for emotion and a respect for things other than battle could only help. Not that a galaxy-wide karaoke contest would be in anyone's best interest."

Though now she was picturing it and the image was glorious.
suitably_heroic: (dsp: aww you poor thing)

[personal profile] suitably_heroic 2023-10-20 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
"It'd be funny, though," Atton said. "Can you picture a Wookiee Jedi trying to out-ballad a Sith Toydarian or something?"
unusual_sith: (adult - grin)

[personal profile] unusual_sith 2023-10-21 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Lana grinned wide. "Opera. Definitely opera. Two Mon Calamari against one Ithorian."
suitably_heroic: (lsp: ahhhh!)

[personal profile] suitably_heroic 2023-10-21 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Atton surprised himself with a laugh. "Oh space," he said, "That one's going to live in my nightmares."
unusual_sith: (adult - smug)

[personal profile] unusual_sith 2023-10-21 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I haven't given a Jedi nightmares in a while now," Lana said cheerfully. "And I was barely even trying."

She knew what she had done.
