The Cabin on Dwarf Terrace-9; Dimension FH-001; Saturday Evening [09/23].
The nice thing about having access to portals and a space ship was that if you wanted to get away for a while, you could really get away. No one cared about Dwarf Terrace-9; the most action Dwarf Terrace-9 had seen since the time the Smith family claimed it as a temporary home more than five years ago was when Summer took her class there earlier that week. But the cabin was still in good shape, and now that she and Stark had arrived for the weekend....well, it was definitely going to see a lot of action now.
Well, not at the moment, though. The tour of the planet had been very quick because, well, it was a tiny planet, you could literally travel around the whole thing in, like, half a day, and then they went inside to get things set up (how did a cabin that had been abandoned for five years still have all its utilities and power? Don't worry about it). There were cozy sweaters and hot chocolate and popcorn, and now it was time to pick a movie.
"So," said Summer, as she settled on the couch and snuggled in, "what are we watching?"

Which was why she also brought a bunch of weapons, in case, you know...prophetic.

He had his
littleperfectly reasonably sized gun on him as well because he wasn't a fool."But we can try one. Do you have a favorite?"
If he got too frightened, well, he could distract himself with his companion.
no subject
"Not really," she admitted, extracting herself from all the well-earned comfortable snuggling positioning to reach over to the coffee table to grab one. "Hoe about this one? It's nice and
moddableand prettyvaguetame to start out with..."And she'd also made sure that in none of them did the Evil come from the house itself. They were probably full up on that one. Outside forces only!

"That looks fine," Stark said.
He would appreciate the lack of Evil House in the film selections when he found out.
He hadn't moved yet and looked over at her. "Are we even watching the movie?"
Because he knew what usually happened when they were on a couch together.

"But I do have ideas." He always had other ideas, these days. "But we should finish the chocolate and popcorn before they get cold, too."
And if someone ended up in someone else's lap because the movie was scary, well, that was just fine.

So she did have to peel herself away to go and get everything set up, but it didn't take long before she was back, and this time with the bowl of popcorn, as well, holding it out for Stark to take some.

He shifted when she came back, both to reach for a handful of popcorn and to make sure there was room for her to get back into a prime snuggling position.
"Thank you," he said. "For all of this."

Stark, why would you say that out loud?

Summer, why would you say that out loud?
"A lot different when you've got to share this space with four other people who low-key can't stand each other half the time."
no subject
They were just begging the multiverse to do something to them.
"I don't think I could ever not stand you. Not even in a tiny cabin on a tiny planet."
no subject
She snorted a little again. "Famous last words.

He moved his arm a bit so he could trace his fingers along her hip while holding her close.
"Although...I haven't seen your murder movies yet. That might be too much."
He didn't even attempt to say that with a straight face.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone had Portalocity on their phones now, not the point.
no subject
"I won't forget. I promise."
Portalocity wasn't nearly as nice as flying in Summer's ship.
"Even if your movies are terrible or frightening."

"And," he said, snuggling in a little closer, "I love that you're terrible sometimes."

"The music seems a bit...unsettling," he added, nodding towards the screen.
But it was just a couple in a quiet cabin enjoying a weekend! What could go wrong?
no subject
"They're building up the tension now," she informed him, "and starting to make it seem mike maybe they're not quite as alone as they original thought they were..."
no subject
He let out a contented sigh. "That's too bad, for them. Not being alone."

He smiled into the kiss, only breaking it off to say. "We don't. We've already been around the entire planet. Nobody here but us."
no subject
"Nobody here but us," she agreed, pulling him back in for more. "On the entire. Planet."
