Summer's 21st Birthday Portal Pub Crawl Mega-Post! Saturday Night [06/19].
Considering that Summer had first hatched this idea all the way back in March and even got a few of the wheels in motion for it back then, it was almost a little hard to believe that it was finally here (with a...few hitches and drama here and there, but what would a Summer party be without some drama attached, right?), it was finally her birthday and it was finally her twenty-first. Most young women in her position might plan for a big night with a few bars to really work the fact that they were finally twenty-one to the bone, but most young women didn't have easy portal access and a whole country pretty much at their wily little now-legal fingertips.
Starting, of course, with that old chestnut that supported not only her underage drinking habits but also her bank account, in the place that made most of this possible, Fandom Island's own Caritas! Summer was, of course, bringing jello shots, but don't expect to stay too long, because it wouldn't take much time for their first portal to be ready, and then it's off for a very long, very rambling, cross-country night that, probably by bar five, Summer probably won't remember anyway! Good thing she had plenty of mostly-sober friends who could maybe record some of it for posterity and memory's sake!
[[ THE EPIC OCD IS NOW UP!
if you're 21 and older and/or not a student, and you've ever breathed in the same air in a close proximity to Summer, she's probably extended an invitation to you, so feel free to jump in. The Caritas post when it goes up can also be great for recruitment!
All the stops outside of Fandom except for the Baltimore bar and Lucifer's club are in Summer's dimension, as well, which has been invaded by aliens a few times and is used to weird shit, so any non-standard-human traits would not raise any eyebrows if there's any concerns there!
Lemme know if there's any questions, everything but Caritas and the Devil's Nest NFB for distance, obviously, and I spent way too much time on this, this is my life ]]

Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
You're welcome, Annie.
Seriously, thought, Hello, Marjorie is super cute and charming and a great place for some cocktails before heading to the next stop.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
So, really, she was kind of at Peak Woo Girl Drunk-levels when she realized they were in Des Moines, and thus everyone was getting treated to a, "Oh my God, welcome to Iowa!!!!!"
Iowa did not, under any circumstances, warrant that reaction. But it was the first stop of the night where she kind of wished Diego was there, because it was at least a version of her hometown. (Although, thankfully, not her own version, and thus there would be no worries of running into old classmates, or teammates, or exes, or exes who were her teammates....)
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
Especially for being this far along on the journey.
"Annie!" Summer beamed at her, so, so proudly over this stop. "It's IOWA!"
Yes, Summer, thank you, Annie was aware, she'd literally just said so.
Also, no one should ever be this excited for Iowa, hereself included, and yet there she was.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
Like, now she was going to have to figure out if it existed in her Des Moines. (Probably? But who could say. She didn't have Starbucks in her Des Moines.)
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
"I KNOW!" Summer shouted, even though they actually probably didn't need right now, but it was currently just her default setting. "I love it! How far away, do you think, it is to the nearest cornfield???"
She was honestly a little surprise that it wasn't right outside the door!
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
"Probably a couple miles but then it'll be, like, nothing but corn," Annie said, with a fondness that corn did not really deserve, either. "And soy. So much goddamn soy. Corn's better for mazes, though."
Because that was what was important when you grew up in farm country. That and, like, tractor joyrides, but Annie was not going to suggest stealing a tractor. (Not at this time, anyway.)
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
Summer would be down for just about anything right now, so, yeah, probably a good idea to not mention the tractors.
"Ohmygod," Summer drawled, "do you think we'd totally get lost if we did a corn maze?"
....they would probably get lost even trying to find one.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
And by 'done that before,' she meant she had gotten lost in a corn maze after, like, a single drink, so they would certainly be doomed tonight.
"Everyone's drinks are on me here!" she added, yelling it (even though again, super probably not necessary.) Because she wasn't so drunk to not realize that, like, no one was going to be as excited about Des Moines as she was.

Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
She gestured broadly towards...a direction. "If you get like a mile outside the city, it's all farms." Kind of a shame to not be seeing those farms! Annie loved a good tipsy farm outing.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
"Is it mostly the same as yours? From what you've seen?"
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
Like he was going to care about the chain coffee shops that were available right now. Annie barely cared.
"But otherwise seems about right," she added. "This is kinda where I used to do the superhero thing when I was younger." And by 'younger' she meant up until last year.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
"Then you came to us?" Stark asked. "To Fandom. That's a good thing!" Maybe some of the stuff after hadn't been, but he was glad she'd showed up on the island at least. "Even if the coffee is different."
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
She actually even straightened up with a little flourish, and added, "I'm the Defender of Des Moines. Or I used to be, anyway."
And saying that here was probably going to get her some strange looks, but hey, drunk girls rambled a lot, they were probably used to it.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
Also maybe some other awful stuff wouldn't have happened but shhh.
"But do you miss it?"
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
Not like how there was more space where Stark was from. Like, space to run around.
"Fandom's all squished together and New York is very crowded," she added.
Re: Hello Majorie, Des Moines, IA - Portal Pub Crawl, 06/19.
"It looked crowded. From the bar. Bars. But that's all I've seen. The bars."
Stark, there was so much more NYC. So much.
