Summer was honestly feeling so glad that next year was a milestone birthday that she already had something very simple but important planned, because this one was just stressing her out way too much. Which was dumb, because she shouldn't have to impress anyone on her birthday, but she still, you know, wanted to impress people and no one wanted to be known as the girl with the lame birthday party, and it would be kind of hard to beat a party planet party next year, anyway, but that was, like, a problem for 21-year-old Summer, because the newly minted 20-year-old Summer was just going to let lose and really enjoy the fruits of poor, sad 19-year-old Summer's hard work, dedication, and social anxiety.

Because it was a party planet. And there was no moping allowed. Anyone who gets caught moping gets immediately spaced.

(Not really, because getting spaced was fucking brutal, but whatever, just have fun or something, it's not that hard).

"It is rather delightfully extravagant, from what little I've seen of it thusfar," Lucifer said merrily. "Happy birthday, by the way. Excellent job getting this thing organised."

"Thank you," said Summer, with a particular loftiness and a lift of her chin that was not at all meant to quell the little squee-ing sound her brain was making at the note of approval. "It did all come together nicely."

And no potentially intergalactic incidents or crises yet! That really was a pretty good start!

"So," Lucifer said, tilting his head up with a grin, "I wouldn't mind a full tour."

"It's a whole party planet, Licifer," Summer reminded him. "A full tour could take days. And they've got people.for that. You wouldn't want to deprive the rest of the party of the birthday girl, would you?"

Still, he was definitely hitting all those good buttons with that one, even if she told herself repeatedly....

"I could show you are a bit, though," she amended, that brain sound getting just a little bit louder and more pressing. "What would you want to see?"

"Oh, I know it's a full planet, but I'm sure you had at least some specific locales in mind when you invited us here," said Lucifer, and then remembered about the crush, and decided he didn't know how to handle it so he was just going to keep on ignoring it from now on in. "What places were you excited about?"

"Wellllllll," said Summer, looking for a moment like she needed to think about it, "I did rent out the karaoke room next door, and I would absolutely die to see you get up there."

But she wouldn't hold her breath for it. Still, never hurt to throw it out there.

"And the spa, of course. It's o e of the only places in the galaxy that does a Kalaxian crystal bath. Highly potent when taken on it's one, but when absorbed through the skin after being diluted in Rigellian spring water? It is inindescribable. And if anyone gets hungry, there's a tually this new little place around the corner with the most hilarious idea of what food on Earth is like. Earth wasn't even on this places radar until about two years ago so there's some interesting takes floating around d."

"Ooooh, karaoke," Lucifer said, sitting up a bit. "... wait, are you implying that the crystal bath makes you high?"

Just checking!

"Yeeee-ess?" said Summer. "Although, like, legally, they can't actually say that. They call it a 'unique and effervescent experience.' Especially since, like, you know, YMMV, obviously, ut that's the idea."

"So would you recommend doing the spa before or after the karaoke?" Lucifer asked, grinning wildly.

"Ummmmm," said Summer, in a very isn't it obvious? tone, "as an adorable and wise-beyond-her-years little Mexican girl once told me in a TV commercial...porque no los dos?"

"So there's karaoke in the spa?" Lucifer asked, tilting his head. "You should have led with that."

"No, no," Summer shook her head as she clarified, "I meant karaoke both before and after the bath. Although, I mean, karaoke in the bath could totally be a thing, too. Who's going to stop us?"

Well, someone might. There might be an issue with equipment, but they didn't really need mics and speakers...

Lucifer tilted his head. Thought about it.

Grinned brightly.

"Want to give it a try?" he asked perkily.

"Yes," Summer gushed, unable to hold back the tide of enthusiasm that rushed forward at first, right down to her hands bunching up in eager little fists in front of her chest. She did manage to stop herself before a bounce was added--mostly--and she beamed right back.

"Should we go now? Maybe a couple of shots first? What are we going to sing?"

"Two shots first," Lucifer said, thinking about it. "Then singing. Oooh, pick a decade. Any decade."

That prompt got Lucifer a little bit of a look; today marked Summer officially having only been alive for two decades, so her own personal experience consisted of a fairly limited range there, and anything right before was what her parents would have listened to, which was just...ew. Gross. No.

"1920s," she threw out with a sarcastic snort. "Or, better yet, I'll picj a year. 2000. Because all the best stuff came out in 2000."

Off hand, Summer had no idea what else came out in 2000 except her, but that was the important one.

Yes, well, it was entirely possible to enjoy music from a decade you hadn't been alive in. At least, that was what Lucifer had been told.

"Ragtime was actually a great deal of fun at the time," he noted idly. "But 2000... I could do a little Santana, perhaps. Or early Destiny's Child." Beat. "For nostalgia's sake, we could even do the 'Thong Song'."
