Liliana's Townhouse; Precinct Five of the Tenth District; Ravnica; Saturday Morn-Afternoon [07/12].

RageFest had only been a few days for Summer at this point, but she was already having a blast. And she hadn't even debuted her jello yet! That was for next week, when things were really going to amp up, but, boy, things were off to a great start. She'd already....well, things were all sort of a blur, and she hadn't really been spending a whole lot of time at the townhouse. But last night, there was this whole fire show that went horribly wrong (or, depending on who you asked, gloriously right), and she, like so many others in the crowd, fled the scene in a hurry, lest they all get caught in the far more personal than intended pyrotechnics. In the rush, she ended up all but colliding with some guy, which was pretty irritating until she actually got a look at this absolute stud, and then, well, one thing led to another, especially once he told her he could read mind, and she made him prove it by thinking the most depraved, dirtiest things at him, and she didn't even need to say a word after that.

And with Liliana and Ignis still back at Fandom? Perfect. She might not have had to say a word, but she still had plenty of noise to make.

So imagine her surprise when she, eventually woke up, threw on a shirt and bounced down the stairs to find Ignis in her...err, their....kitchen.

She stared for a moment, thinking maybe if she didn't move...

"Hello, Summer."

"Dammit. How are you so good at that?"

"Well, to your credit, anyone could have been fooled by such a graceful gazelle of a descent."

Summer stuck here tongue out at Ignis (was that a flash of something metal on her tongue? Maybe. She'd like to see him hear that!), gave a little finger-waggling wave over to Liliana, and immediately moved over to the coffee pot. She didn't need the caffeine, though, to instantly perk up with bright enthusiasm. "But that's perfect, actually! You being here! Now you can make us some breakfast."

A brow lifted. "Us?"

Somehow, Ignis didn't think Summer was referring to brunching with her esteemed hosts.

"Yeaaaaah." And what Ignis could hear now for certain was the grin in it. "I might've brought someone home last night? I mean, I'm probably going to try and ditch him with the Izzet later because there's word of a secret Dimir pop-up club tonight, so I guess that's like....a speakeasy but with drugs and Russian roulette, although I guess they call it Dimiri blackjack or something, IDK....and he's really fucking cute, like, Ignis. Adorable. But he'll definitely just cramp my style. Either way, he should be down in a moment, he's just up there rocking a piss, so I hope you have a lot of eggs, because my guy is gonna need that protein replenishment."

The intake of Ignis' breath seemed to be taking into account a lot of things, but, in that moment, the only one he was going to address was going to Liliana.

"Remind me again," he requested, "why we thought this was a good idea?"

But if you thought he wasn't already pulling out more ingredients to double the portions of the meal he was in the middle of making, then you clearly didn't know Ignis. But that did remind him of another issue.

"And please, Summer," he said, "tell me you're going to be doing something with all this jello stuff soon, because there's barely any room to work in here with all your paraphernalia everywhere."

"Don't sweat it, my dude," Summer waved a hand dismissively, but she did swoop in to start moving some of her things to a place less in his way, and, in her defense, she wasn't expecting them, if she had she might have already taken care of it. "I'm launching officially next week. I wanna hit up the Gruul with it first, after I totally kick some ass--ooooh, actually, I wonder if I'll have time to whip something up for tonight, that could be a good way to get some whispers already stirring around town..."

Dammit, Ignis! Making her think this early (ish) in the morning day afternoon! But she might be able to pull it off...

"My assistant!" Jace said immediately. "Azorious and thinks that smiling is a sin."

"Assistant and minder," Liliana snorted. "It's possible, darling, you just try her patience enough so that it just feels that way to you."

"She's a wonderful person," Jace told Summer, ignoring Liliana and her helpful comments. "Efficient, precise, a little stern, but overall great. But most emphatically not... whatever you sounded like you were worried about."

Darling, go for pettiness. It was the most fun option of the two.

"We met her, my darling," Liliana reminded. "The day we were so cordially and enthusiastically invited to join the Gatewatch." Jace winced at the italics. "She was the one who offered us rooms in the Hall."

Which Liliana had immediately declined.

Ignis was strongly of the opinion that a certain italics was also missing on that we. Or at the very least, quotation marks.

"Ahhh, yes," he said, with a nod and a skillful crack of an egg or two, "now I remember."

Which only solidified his statement as truth, really, and so...

"Well, then," he stated, "congratulations, Summer. In this ever-surmounting pile of questionable mistakes, that assessment is at least one thing you can add to the Correct column. Well done."

Glower at his back a little more, while you were at it, Summer, perhaps it might help the eggs fry a little faster.

But instead she just rolled her eyes. "What, like I'm supposed to just ask everyone I make out with if they used to date my friend?"

Granted, she definitely was going to now! But that was beside the point.

"I mean, what even are the odds??"

Summer, that aspect did not even begin to scratch the surface of the issue...

"You don't have to worry on that score, Summer," Liliana said with a wave of her hand. "Jace and Ignis are the only people alive who share that distinction.

All Jace did was note the glint of metal on her finger. "Wait--" he sputtered, "did you two get married??"

"No, Liliana said. "But I did accept his proposal.

"Oh," Jace said lamely "Congrats..."

"All three of them," Ignis added, "as a matter of fact."

Unnecessarily? Perhaps. But the faint hint of a smug smirk on his face certainly didn't seem to think so.

"And I helped him with picking out the ring!" Summer added, cheerfully, lest she be left out of the conversation and for no other ulterior motives, clearly, ha ha, what would those, like, even be, gawd? "You have no idea how long he actually sat on it, either! And I was just all, come on, dude, what are you even waiting for, obviously she's nuts for you, just go ahead and fucking do it already."

"But thank you, Jace," Ignis continued with a nod. "The actual date is still quite pending, but I'm sure you can expect an invitation in the mail once we finally hone in on one."

Ignis couldn't see the glare she leveled his way, but she was pretty sure he could feel it. Look, she knew she had just been advocating for pettiness, but not against her.

"Wow, well, it'll depend on my workload and what plane you decide to have it on," Jace hedges.

He was never so glad to hear screaming from the street, followed by snarls and growls and the sound of pounding feet as people at least attempting to flee.

If it had come off as pettiness, then it must have been the smugness to blame, because it had certainly not been intended that way. At least not toward Liliana in any way.

But Ignis' attention had also been captured by the sounds from outside.

"Well," he commented, "it certainly seems as though something has gotten started out there."

"Ooh, hold on!" Summer, peeking up, quickly down the last of her coffee, slammed down the mug, and went bouncing off. "I'm gonna go get some pants."

In case anyone had forgotten that she'd been barely dressed this whole time.

Inviting Jace to the wedding, darling? Definitely the kind of petty that splashed back.

"Sounds like the uncagers are making an appearance," Liliana noted.

Jace's eyes glowed a brilliant blue as he extended his senses out, and he nodded in time with Liliana. "Yes," he agreed. "I'm getting about five or six of the uncagers' range and picking up...hmm, only about four of the creatures they're playing with."

The assumption was that this invitation would, as it so happened, also find itself mysteriously lost in the mail as well.

Even if Ignis was getting a sinking feeling in his stomach that it wasn't entirely unlikely that he'd be dragged along as a Plus-1 regardless now...

"Well, then, that's undoubtedly at least Summer's breakfast to go now," Ignis said, with a slight sigh and folding an egg so it might fit more comfortably between bread as a sandwich, but at least he just about was finished up there.

Because of course he was going to make sure she still ate something before getting back out there again.

"Well, so long as the uncagers stay out there and we stay in here, we should be fine," Liliana said. "Either they'll get bored or their creatures will get full, and they'll move on.

Which of course, the the most dramatic time for someone to knock on the front door with hard, booming knocks that rattled the hinges. So someone did.

And into the kitchen strode Gideon Jura, having blown past the zombie footman who'd opened the door for them. His sural, emitting gold light, dangled around his wrist.

"There you are, Jace," he said. "We've got--" He paused as he noticed Jace's companions. "Ignis," he said, courteously, followed by a nod in Summer's direction. "Miss."

Liliana got a grated out, "Vess," that sounded like half an accusation about something.

Don't worry, Summer, darling. White mana tended to shove a stick up a people's asses.

"Lavinia had us searching when he didn't come home last night," he rumbled. His glare turned slightly sharper at Liliana.

"I don't know why you're looking at me like that for," she stated. "I wasn't even on this plane. You can take up Jace playing hooky with those two over there, Meatcake."

Gideon's lips pursed at the nickname, but he simply looked back to Jace. "There were several odd beasts on the street harassing citizens, so I took the liberty of disposing of them. But we really must go back to the Hall before their owners return."

"I could have handled a few displacer beasts on my own, Gideon," Jace said, suddenly appearing a few inches shorter and less disheveled. "And Ignis is making me a breakfast sandwich. I haven't finished my coffea yet, either."

"We have coffee back at the Hall."

"And an angry Lavinia." Can't blame a man for wanting to put that off for awhile longer.

"And your sandwich," said Ignis, holding one out, like the helper he genuinely was, but the opportunity to nudge Jace along quicker with Gideon's timely arrival was one to be seized immediately, especially as it sounded like nothing he might also br needed for, "is finished, and I just know we've got a travel tumbler around here somewhere....ah yes."

Truly, he had to search oh-so-hard for it, too!

"Here we are."

That was not very cash money of you, Ignis. :(

"Ah...thanks," he said. At least the sandwich smelled amazing. And his hangover had receded enough for his stomach to appreciate it, rather than trying to rebel.

And to Summer, he added, "I'll be seeing you around, perhaps?"

Jace had telepathic ethics and definitely wouldn't go poking into Summer's brain to see what she was thinking, except for how that was exactly what he did.

"I tend to be very lucky when I want to be," he said, smirking a bit. "See you at the Hall, Liliana, Ignis."

Gideon grunted something that was probably 'goodbye,' or maybe, 'die in a fire, Vess,' and the two men left the kitchen and strolled out of the townhouse.

Liliana just kept drinking her doctored coffee. Today has already been too damn much.

"Ugh, Beefslab the Second?" Liliana asked, wrinkling her nose. "Darling, if your tastes run towards walking anatomical diagrams, have him with my blessings."

Sure, they could be fun if you just needed a good, mindless pounding, but Liliana generally preferred finesse.

"And thank you for the concern, darling, but don't worry about it. Jace and I...it will always be a little complicated, given how it was between us and how it ended, but it certainly doesn't bother me. The majority of my issues with Jace are unrelated to our previous romantic relationship."

Jace's feelings were somewhat more muddled, as Ignis could attest to.

Liliana laughed. "Have fun with that, darling," she said. "And if it works, send a message so Ignis can go enjoy the symphony of destruction."

Liliana wasn't going anywhere until she got her breakfast sandwich.

Well, save the best for last, no? As Summer went running off into th fray and whatever adventures RageFest would provide for her this time around, Ignis finished up on the last of the food, filled two plates, and went to finally join her. As he set down her food, he leaned in to meet her for a much, much needed kiss, the ordeal of having to get through any of that without one clearly weighing upon him heavily.

"I can't help but wonder, my love," he mused, "if we'd have been better off with the sirens.'

"I'm starting to think we might have been," she sighed. "I'm serious about having won that argument, though. Jace knows where we live, 'Nys."

They had agreed that that shouldn't happen.
