MHA #8; Saturday Evening [01/13] - Stark's Birthday Party!

There had been a handful of oh-so-handwavey flyers popped into the most obvious spots, but Summer was relying heavily on the age-old method of massive group texting (and general word of mouth) to let everyone know about Stark's birthday party tonight at his apartment because it really was just going to be a super chill, lowkey, casual sort of fling this time around.

She'd spent the majority of her prep work in splashing the apartment with decorations (blue and gold and black again) and bmaking a variety of different jello shots in pie and cupcake and other dessert-like forms, so, needless to say, she definitely ordered out for the the cupcakes themselves.

Other snacks and drinks were also available and moddable, and there was also a very moddable but totally curated, for real, music playlist, and she'd even dusted off the karaoke machine from the GxG birthday party years ago and dragged that up, just in case anyone was feeling up to getting that going.

Definitely not exactly her best, most extravagant party, but, hey, not all parties could (or even should!) be epic. Sometimes, they could just be kind of quiet and cozy with a lot of cupcakes. Which just suited the birthday guy better anyway, really.

Because arriving and mingling is just what you do at a party, it's kind of the whole point.

Well, aside from Arriving and Mingling, Eating and Drinking is a pretty big party staple, too, right? There are plenty of cupcakes and also dessert-shaped jello shots, but other things to munch and sip on as well, especially if anyone else bring something to contribute to the noshing.

Look, if you had a karaoke machine and a low-key party, then they just kind of went hand-in-hand, didn't they? So one corner of the little room is set up as a make-shift performance area, so get on up there and sing!

Or use this thread to get something else started, too, if you feel so inclined.

And, of course, it's a birthday party, so the birthday person gets their own thread! Obviously, wait for him to ping in, but once he does, come on over and wish him a happy one.

And, of course, any presents brought for Stark can be left here for him to open....whenever he wants to open them.

ALSO, I will be SLOW die to WORK, but do NOT let that STOP you from PARTYING.

Did Yukari know who Stark was? No. Did she recognize the number from which this information about this party was sent? Not even a little. Was that going to stop her from still crashing it ans having a good time? Absolutely not!

A random text from people you didn't know talking about parties right there in your own building could go one of two ways, and Yukari? Was definitely willing to take her chances!

Kiss a Ginger Day was yesterday so please refrain from kissing the birthday boy as a general rule. Exceptions could be made, however!

Stark was there, cupcake in hand (probably). He was enjoying this, maybe even more than last year. It was less overwhelming than the surprise first birthday had been but still some attention.

At some point during the day there would be a text that would come in to Summer's phone for whenever she was able to get to it. Short and sweet it simply said:

"Hey Summer, sorry we can't make it to the party but please tell Stark 'Happy Birthday' from Cutter and me! I'm sure the party is gonna be epic!"

Summer, of course, would have never even thought that she wouldn't be an exception, so she absolutely was kissing the birthday boy. Just a little kiss, though, on the cheek, as she came over to bring him another cupcake. This one was chocolate with a blue and white swirled frosting that was clearly not from the batches she's ordered, with two candles plunked into it and alight when she handed it over to him.

"Happy birthday, Stark."

Stark had personally invited them, so of course Prompto was going to stop by, even if the whole concept of 'hey, yeah, sure, bring your baby to this party held by Summer' felt a bit wild.

But actually? This was all pretty tame and tasteful, ans that karaoke machine might be calling his name, and it was a good chance to show off more of Noctra's cute outfits as he bounced her in his arms a little, pointing out all the shiny decorations and letting her know about how there were going to be all kinds of decorations like this, all for her, next month for her birthday!

She was clearly very excited. Or honestly just enchanted by sparkly.

Stark would accept kisses from Summer at any time. Happily.

"Thank you, Summer." He grinned at her but the expression quickly faded into that soft smile he reserved only for her.

He was watching her as he very deliberately blew out the candles. "Made my wish."

Summer had to smirk a little a Connor's message, shaking her head as she typed out her response:

if u wanna wish him a happy birthday just tell him yourself

It was followed by Stark's phone number, and then:

if there's any shots or cupcakes or whatever left over at the end of the night, u want me to bring some up for you and cutter?

Hey, Stark's birthday. Margo should probably make an appearance. And so there she was, wearing a cute purple dress with a matching eyepatch. Looking around for the booze.

After a long day of hauling boxes of books out of his soon-to-be-old apartment, Gladio had to admit, ducking in for Stark's birthday party for a drink or two sounded like a pretty good way to round out his Saturday, so don't mind if he did just that.

Prompto still had no interest in being an exception!

He did want to find a chance to go and wish Stark a happy birthday, though. Or rather, try to have Noctra say it.

"Noctra," Prompto...well, prompted, "can you say Happy Birthday to Stark?"

She, apparently, could not, giving just a tired, little murmur that basically translated to 'ohmygod talking is a lot right now ans I just cannot even',though she did hold out a hand toward Stark, palm facing him with her fingers opening ans closing.

Whether that was meant to be a wave or her trying to stab at something, was anyone's guess.

"Well," said Prompto, "an attempt was made. How's it going, Stark? Happy birthday."

Prompto didn't know what he was missing. Of course, neither did Stark and that was the problem.

"Thank you, Noctra," Stark said. He gave her a grin and held out his hand for her just in case that was a request for a high-five or a handshake.

"And Prompto," he added. "It's going well. This was nice. Not so overwhelming as the first party was. Thank you for coming."

Stark, for one, was glad she was making an appearance.

"Hello, Margo! It's good to see you."

"I know," Margo said, but she sounded less dry and more amused about it. "Happy birthday, Stark!"

Would he like a hug? Because he was getting one.

Thanks, will do! came the reply, which was followed quickly with , sure, if you'd not mind! Would be a shame to let the leftovers go to waste if the birthday boy doesn't want them!

Stark hopefully had his phone with him, because at some point there would be a text message coming in:

Hey Stark, it's Connor. Just wanted to send happy birthday wishes from Cutter and me since we cant be there to do it in person. Hope your day is a great one!

Liz smiled as she watched Noctra in Prompto’s arms, “I think she’s enjoying herself,” she said fondly.

Stark loved hugs. He didn't get enough of them, really.

"Thank you," he said once he'd pulled back. "And thank you for coming. How are you?"

Stark nearly always had his phone with him. It had a lot of pictures he would hate to lose.

Thank you Connor. Hope you are well

"Hey, Stark," Gladio offered a nod and a lift of his drink in salute when he made it over. "Happy birthday. Having a good one so far?"
