MHA #4; Friday [12/08].
Summer had been about to step out and actually go do stuff for the day, but Pancakes was acting a little funny when she went to the door, all tense with her hackles raised and yowling out a warning, with a few hisses thrown in for good measure, which put Summer immediately on the defensive. She checked the peekhole, but couldn't see anything out in the hallway, but the cat was definitely acting like there was something not good on the other side. So, half-wondering if she should go grab a vase or a hammer or one of her many, many, many laser guns first, she cautiously turned the doorhandle and pulled the door open just a little biiiit....
....and quickly slammed it back shut again, just in time to catch a squirrel colliding head first into the door after a failed attempt to dive right through the crack.
"Dammit, Leroy!" she said. "I know it's mistletoe day already! It's not gonna happen! That was a one time thing and it was practically six years ago, you little creep! You and your mistletoe can just go jump in a fucking well!"
She expected to hear whines and complaints, but there was actually silence on the other side of the door. Cautiously, she opened the door again to find that it had actually worked? She looked up sto make sure he wasn't, like, ninja-ing it up in the corner on the ceiling or something, and she blinked and thought about it...
And wondered if she should text Travis to warn him about any calls he might get from squirrels stuck in wells today in particular.
Also, she wondered if it was too early to start drinking. Or maybe just getting high...

not yet completedmistletoe-related shenanigans. Luckily he hadn't run into any opportunistic squirrels or raccoons. He'd gone back to his apartment eventually, wrapped up the gift he'd purchased yesterday, and amazingly remembered to send a text.
are you home can I come downstairs please
no subject
yeah im home come on over just be careful leroy might be in the hallway its mistletoe and he's really trying to push his luck
A moment later, it was followed by:
do u have any good snacks? U should bring them
no subject
"I didn't have much food but I brought cookies," he called out through the door. "And no squirrels."
no subject
"I should really text Travis to warn him about any potential well incidents," she murmured, shaking her head, and then she gave Stark one of those content, wistful, heavy-lidded smiles that was indicative that she'd maybe been imbibing.
"Cookies," she declared, "sound awesome right now, thank you! What kind did you bring?"
no subject
It was a good thing he hadn't been planning on picking up food today. He was scared now.
"I'm glad you're here the mistletoe is..."
You know what, maybe he just needed to kiss that smile of hers right now. That would help.
no subject
And...yeah, okay. That worked. Summer grinned into it a little as she wrapped her arms around Stark's neck to pull herself on to kiss him back, a kiss that tasted heavily of pizza and Doritos, and, of course, that good dank.
"Geeeez, Stark," she then said, pulling back just a little with her arms still loosely in place against his shoulders, "trying to beat it to the chase, huh?"
no subject
Yes, these thoughts were connected.
"And...I like kissing you."
Even when she tasted of junk food and smoke.
no subject
And that hand continued to travel down his arm to his hand so that she could take it and then start pulling him into the apartment for the living room, turning to lead the way.
"Come on," she said, "those cookies are calling my name. Have you been out? Did you get mistletoed with anyone?"
no subject
"Obviously," Stark echoed as he let himself be pulled along, grinning at her in spite of himself.
"And...I was out. I should have stayed inside or just come down here but I wanted to go out and walk around so I did and I ended up in Liliana's shop and...we should have cookies. Let's sit. And have cookies."
He was already moving to sit on the couch and perhaps tug her down next to him.
no subject
Nice try, though! She was not going to be distracted by cookies!
Well, actually, yes, she was, but she could multitask, reaching into the bag to grab one and biting into it before gushing out, "Liliana's??? Was she there? Did you have to kiss her?"
no subject
"And there was mistletoe. She didn't know about it."
It was almost like the mistletoe had been left out of a list of possible things on purpose by a higher power than Stark.
"But no. I didn't. Kiss her."
no subject
"Did you kiss someone?" she asked.
"Other than me," she clarified, very helpfully, "just now. When you came in. Obvi."
no subject
"I only kissed you," he said finally. He'd been considering his words as he chewed.
"Ignis kissed me."
no subject
"Whaaaaaat?"
Was she too high right now?
(Impossible).
Maybe she'd just misheard that.
"Seriously?"
A beat.
"How was it?"
Asking for a friend!
no subject
Maybe he ought to be high as well. Although now that he was here sitting in his favorite spot on the island the whole thing was already a bit ridiculous.
"And it was...not something either of us would care to repeat, I think."
Although now Stark might need to kiss Prompto at some point just to collect all three chocobros and to compare. Gladio had a higher score than Ignis, certainly.
"I much prefer kissing you. Always. And I brought you a present."
no subject
"A present?" Her eyes shifted toward it. "What for?"
no subject
"A present because I wanted to," he said, handing over the other bag he'd brought with him. "And I have a question to go with it. Open it first?"
no subject
"Oh-kaaay," said Summer, giving Stark a curious, amused look, before she started digging into the bag and pulling out the sweater to give it a better look.
"Oh.My.Gawd," she gushed, letting out a laugh. "Where did you even get this?"
no subject
"I bought it from Boc," Stark told her. He was practically beaming as he watched her. "It had jello so I had to. Do you like it?"
She seemed to but he was Stark and a little extra reassurance never hurt.
"That wasn't the question I was going to ask but you could answer that one too. The other question was about the sweater but not really about the sweater it just goes with the sweater."
no subject
She took a second longer to admire it. "Ohmygod, it's so gross," she added, without any real awareness of her particular word choice, surprisingly, and then she hugged it close as she leaned over to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Stark. I hate it!"
Which was a good thing, in this case!
no subject
And he was so pleased. So very pleased about having gotten it right.
"Will you come to the party with me then? With your new sweater?"
no subject
no subject
"Good," Stark said. He gave her one of those soft and utterly smitten smiles. "I'm glad. And I'm glad there is a party to go to but especially that I can go with you."
"Maybe we can go shopping another day. For another sweater? Whatever you like for me."
