The Junkyard, then to Parts Beyond; Saturday [05/20].
After everything going on with the mess that was his last jaunt back home and his failing awkward relationship with his coworker/coteacher/exboyfriend, it was clear to Summer that Connor just really need to get out, see the multiverse a little, and have a good time. And she was very good at providing exactly that, thank you very much, and was mostly just pleased that he'd agreed, and hadn't, like, decided that he'd much rather just be all mopey and sad and drunk about it instead.
So she headed down to the junkyard, knowing that her pre-flight checks should go pretty quickly since the old girl was getting out a bit more these days again (you loved to see it), and then she just had to wait for Connor to get there, half-wondering if she was going to have to go back and drag his half-hungover ass out of his apartment or something.
She'd do it, too! Put all that weightlighting she'd been doing to good use!
[[ mostly for the sad little dino nerd, but can be open if anyone wants to catch her before they head out! But also, like, all the SP, ohemgee. ]]

You were talking to a certified geek and conspiracy theory addict, Summer, a hunk of rock in space was plenty interesting!

"Well, then," she declared, "we have our first destination, then! Get on in, have a seat, buckle up, and when we get there, don't say I didn't warn you."

You know, whichever ones might still be alive, anyway.
"And places much cooler than that, too."

Though the geeky nerdy klutzy vibe would likely always bee there- it was definitely a Connor thing.

Granted, from what she'd heard, the furthest removed from any of Connor's mess of a home crew, the better, buuuuuut....

"Get your last glance of the Earth from inside its atmosphere a good look, because in about two seconds, it's all the endless void of space, baby!"

But moments like this reminded her of how far she'd come along, and, even better, at least in that moment, all that drama and strife was temporarily pushed aside in Connor's mind.
And then, with a little impact and a lot of heat, and a few switches on her dash, they were there, just like that, the vastness of space.
NBD.

"So how fast are we going? What fuel source are you using to manage these speeds? What control system are you using in this thing? How long will it take to get to the moon?" These quests, and many more
oh so handwavedwere coming out one after another as Connor tried to process that he was actually in space!no subject
Tapping the speedometer so he could see the number for himself as she rattled it off, although it was definitely not MPH, and she explained a little that she actual ran this thing on a super-charged solar converter (the mention of which caused her to deftly have to not think of breakups herself, really). She explained a little bit of the control systems, too, because she knew that, as well, because she'd worked on them herself, and she told Connor a little bit about that, as well, even more about that, actually, because while there was still a lot of ache in her chest for that era of her life being behind her now, it was something she had done (with help, of course!) with the ship that didn't have Barry's influence all over it.
And a few more of the other questions she could manage to give him an answer to, while mostly just ignoring the ones that were, honestly, come on now, buddy, too nerdy to even acknowledge.
"And as for how long it'll take to get to the moon?" she concluded, with a grin, a few minor little checks and fiddling at the dash, and then....fwoom! There was solid ground underneath them rather than space. "Oh, about three seconds ago."
Look! He's asked a lot of questions! And the moon was, space-travel wise, not that far at all! It was like popping down to the corner store for milk, really.

"Brilliant. Bloody brilliant" Connor said as he all but pressed his face against the window to take it all in. "Can only imagine what the rest of it all is like."

"Kidding," she added, just in case her dryness was taken as sincerity. "Of course. Where do you want to head next? Mars? Jupiter?
"Uranus?"
What?
no subject
"Jupiter... Saturn... anywhere would be amazing really. Be a bloody idiot to say no to any of this really!"
