MHA #4; Saturday Morning [02/18].
When Summer woke up that morning, curled up with her cat in her ship in the parking spot of some space trucker pitstop, she realized that one of two things were happening: 1) she'd somehow ended up in some sort of weird gender-sex flux of time and space or 2) Fandom shit was leaking into her dimension again. It could have been some sort of third option involving Rick, too, and that third option convinced her that it was probably better to head back to Fandom, whether or not the pollen had run its course, although honestly? If this whole waking up as a dude thing was happening back on the island and the pollen thing was still in the air?
Not gonna lie, hilarious. Of course, that was coming from the perspective of several days removed from it and blowing up asteroids instead.
Honestly, she had to pack for the trip and get Pancakes set up for her stay at the shelter while she was gone, anyway, so she headed back, parked her ship, and planned to spend the rest of the day trying to figure out if she wanted to lean into cute and breezy for her wardrobe or comfy casual, and also sort of wonder what happened if she originally set out to have a Plus One, but the Plus One bailed at the last minute, and really hoping that meant she'd just get a nice private room instead of being sidled last minute with someone random...
...and then she realized that if this was more than a day thing, she literally had hardly any clothes to look cute in with this body, and, ohmygod, she needed to go shopping, like, STAT.

While Pancakes, without giving up her perfectly centered spot in the middle of the suitcase, leaned forward to give Stark's fingers, Summer opened the door to her closet and walked in and started rifling through options while adding, "And it's in Southeast Asia. A couple of islands between Australia and mainland Asia."

He could cover that up by moving a little closer to Pancakes so he could scratch her ears, right?
"Is it warm there?" he asked with a hint of wistfulness in his voice. The cold hadn't been an issue this week with everything else going on but he was growing tired of winter.
no subject
"It iiiiis," said Summer, dragging it out a little, because, even from the closet, she could pick up on that wistfulness and felt another bit of guilt. Especially since she was even sitting there with a forfeit Plus One...
"I feel like," she said, "they always try to do somewhere warm, you know? For the spring break?"
no subject
"Did you like Africa, last year? I was home then." Possibly imprisoned for part of it, even. "But that was warm. It's good, getting to go somewhere warm."
no subject
"Africa was fine," said Summer, since it wasn't all of Africa's fault, no, that she was in her current predicament, but it was enough of a sore spot to make her sigh. And frown, as a potential awful idea came to mind that she felt she should have been smart enough to know could be terrible, but at the same time, feeling guilty about something was the worst. Then make it feeling guilty while also feeling bummed out when you should be enjoying a tropical paradise?
Ugh.
So after a moment to sigh and give herself any last minute objections of logic and common sense, she poked her head out of the closet.
"Hey, do you want to go? On the school trip? With me?"
no subject
"You don't...have a roommate?" Stark asked carefully because he knew Barry had been notably absent last week but he'd managed to go on the last trip, hadn't he?
no subject
"World Hunger couldn't even take a break for one night," she snorted derisively, "you think it's going to let him off for a full straight week?"
There was the sound of a few irritable shifting hangers.
"I already signed him on as a Plus One," she said. "But since he's not using it, and the whole reason you're not going is because I ditched you to fly solo this semester..."
She emerged from the closet, with an armful of
relatively moddableoptions and deposited on the bed beside the suitcase."Try some of these on," she said, "see if any of them work."
no subject
"I'm sorry," he said softly. "But I would like to go. If you mean it. But you don't have to mean it."

And effectively get cat hair all over that pile of carefully selected clothes, too, while she was at it.
"Stark," said Summer, though not as firm as it might have been; she somehow found it more difficult to be as harsh with a softer Stark, but, conversely, she did also feel less like she was kicking a puppy when she did, so maybe it balanced out in a weird way. "Why would I have said it if I didn't mean it.
no subject
"Should I start with shirts? Is there something blue?" Stark asked, moving one hand to start searching through the clothes while keeping the other on Pancakes's head.

She snorted. "Hope you aren't too big a fan of having decent pockets," she said, while shoving her hands blissfully in to the roomy depths of a pair of Barry's Wranglers.

He'd put on the leather ones mentioned earlier if she asked. He'd even be willing to entertain the idea of a skirt or a dress if asked. He might not go out in public but he'd try them.
"You don't have pockets?" Faye had constantly been borrowing his pockets for 'borrowed' items but he didn't really realize that was a consistent issue and not a Faye-specific one. "Something black, for pants?"
His gaze very quickly went back to the cat and the clothes once Summer's hands went in her pockets.

Stark had no idea. He was used to nice, roomy pockets.
"Are these comfortable?" he asked, holding up a pair of black leggings. "They seem...tight?"
no subject
She went to go rummage through the pile.
"Like this one."
no subject
Yes, Summer had now gotten good looks at him naked twice but not on purpose (much) and he was an entirely new shape now and he was certainly feeling more shy than he had the previous several days.
"Should I take other things too?"
Maybe there needed to be a whole fashion show montage.

Stark nodded, patted Pancakes gently on the head for good measure, and scooped up the pile of clothes to take into the bathroom.
The leggings (black of course) and the tunic top (blue of course) went first and he opened the door.
"Does this look alright?"
Maybe he ought to try on one of the signature pink tanks too.
no subject
"Ugh," said Summer, "I forgot how cute that top actually is! You look...comfy. How do you feel?"
no subject
"It feels comfy. It's soft," Stark said approvingly. He did enjoy feeling comfortable. "But I should try others? Or just these for now?"
He was hoping this would be over by tomorrow.

"I like the color of this one, but it's..." He said, opening the door again and gesturing at himself.
"I'm glad I'm not on Moya. I would have to borrow something from Chiana."
