MHA #4; Tuesday Evening [09/13].

Yes, Summer had been having a lot of sangria nights lately, but, apparently, there had been a lot of good reasons for them. And Rey being back after a pretty substantial event in her life definitely called for one, and so she got together all the necessary things and had several large pitcher waiting and ready to go, and they could start to really dish it out and explore all the no doubt complicated feelings she was going through, now that the aftermath had a little bit of time to just settle.

And then Summer would get started on focusing on Annie's bachelorette party. Really!

Also, the giant bowl of gummy sharks on the coffee table right now was probably not only excessive but also a terrible idea considering the amounts of alcohol that were likely to be consumed that evening, but, goddamn it, it was Rey, and Summer could never let a good running joke die.

So, with pizza cupcakes and beer far behind her, she was ready for a much more sophisticated sloppy drunkenness ahead of her.

"I mean," Summer allowed, "I'm pretty sure yours was probably much more alive and decaying at the time, given the context, but honestly, truth be told, I'm not entirely sure that dude hasn't been just decaying for a long time already."

"I'm not positive," Rey admitted. "He was hooked up to tubes and machines until he sucked all the life force energy out of us."

What the hell, movie.

"Jesus," said Summer. "At that point, dude, just let it go, seriously..."

But, joking aside, she looked over at Rey sympathetically. "Is that....is that what happened down there, then?"

Rey nodded. "His plan was originally to transfer his energy into me. I'd basically be him in my body. When Ben came to help he decided to drain us both and just heal himself instead."

"Okay, first off, gross," said Summer, "I didn't think you meant an actual vessel, that's a little bit fucked, but also....why? Dude. You're literally decaying, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of your original plan? Drain all you want, you're still going to have a shit body, why the hell."

"It did heal him, though. It takes a lot of power, and it takes everything out of the other person," she said. "He didn't need the tubes anymore. I saw his hand regrow back..."

Summer's brow furrowed a little, a little surprised that this was actually not something she had a relatable experience for, which felt like kind of a weird gap in experience, if you asked her. Maybe she was forgetting something. Or Rick had Mind Blasted it. Draining life from your grandkids definitely felt like a Mind Blasting situation, for suuuuure, especially since she felt surprised he hadn't yet.

"So....what happened....after that?"

"Ben tried to get up, Palpatine threw him away like he was nothing. I couldn't move, so Palpatine electrocuted the fleet for me to watch," Rey said, frowning at her glass. "I don't know how to explain the rest. Weird Force thing. I called on the Jedi who came before to help me, and that gave me what I needed to send his own lightning back at him."
