The Smith Residence; Earth Dimension C-137. [08/21].

Gathered around the table in the Smith household, Summer could only stare. It was the same house, the same table, the same damn tablecloth, but different Jerry, different Beth, different her. It was one thing to wake up and spend a weekend as a different you, but to actually sit across a dinner table from a different you was...different. Especially when the other you was eating a disgusting Cronenberg sloppily and noisily, as you looked around, trying to come to the terms that that was you, used to be you, this house crumbling down around you used to be your house, that this was a world where things took a very, very dark turn.

"Good roasted Cronenberg, I assume?" she finally said weakly. "Mom, you're looking...feral." When it was clear that they weren't paying her any attention, she turned to Morty. "I can't believe Rick did this."

"These are the parts of Rick's adventures you don't get to see," he said. "The parts he leaves behind." He then pushed himself up from his chair to stand up and addressed the table as a whole. "Alright, it's been great, guys, I only wanted to stop by here for a quick 'I told you so.' So, uh--"

"Looking for this?" Jerry asked, pulling out the portal gun.

"What are you doing with that?" Morty asked.

"It stinks of Rick," Jerry narrowed his eyes accusingly. And promptly took his machete to it, destroying it in a shower of sparks.

"No!" Morty clasped his head in despair and shock, Summer gasping beside him. "Why?! Why would you do that?! W-W-What is the matter with you people?!"

"You," Jerry pointed a Morty, "can never leave. She," his finger moved toward Summer, "cannot remain."

"She stinks of Rick," said the other Summer.

Just as Summer was about to leap for Summer, the air was charged with electricity and a large green portal appeared. Three Ricks stepped out, dressed in sharp white suits with an air of importance around them, and the feral Smiths turned to attack. The Ricks were quick, though, lifting their guns and freezing them in place. And then the guns turned on Summer and Morty.

"Hold your fire!" Morty shouted, jumping out in front of his sister, lifting his hands. "Hold your fire! I'm Morty C-137."

The Ricks exchanged a glance. "We detected a compromised portal gun," one said. "Where is your Rick?"

"He's in prison," Summer said, stepping forward before Morty could stop her, though he tried to get in a warning. She forged ahead despite him. "He got captured by the Federation and we were going to rescue him."

"Very troubling," the Rick frowned, stroking his chin. "We can't risk Citadel secrets falling into the Federation's hands. We'll dispatch SEAL Team Ricks immediately to break into the prison holding C-137.

Summer nearly died from happiness, crossing her arms in front of her in a victorious gesture to rub into Morty's face. "Boo-yah!"

But Rick wasn't finished. "And assassinate him," he concluded, leaving Summer significantly not so sure of herself.

"Boo-nah?" she tried instead.
