Summer's 21st Birthday Portal Pub Crawl Mega-Post! Saturday Night [06/19].

Considering that Summer had first hatched this idea all the way back in March and even got a few of the wheels in motion for it back then, it was almost a little hard to believe that it was finally here (with a...few hitches and drama here and there, but what would a Summer party be without some drama attached, right?), it was finally her birthday and it was finally her twenty-first. Most young women in her position might plan for a big night with a few bars to really work the fact that they were finally twenty-one to the bone, but most young women didn't have easy portal access and a whole country pretty much at their wily little now-legal fingertips.

Starting, of course, with that old chestnut that supported not only her underage drinking habits but also her bank account, in the place that made most of this possible, Fandom Island's own Caritas! Summer was, of course, bringing jello shots, but don't expect to stay too long, because it wouldn't take much time for their first portal to be ready, and then it's off for a very long, very rambling, cross-country night that, probably by bar five, Summer probably won't remember anyway! Good thing she had plenty of mostly-sober friends who could maybe record some of it for posterity and memory's sake!

if you're 21 and older and/or not a student, and you've ever breathed in the same air in a close proximity to Summer, she's probably extended an invitation to you, so feel free to jump in. The Caritas post when it goes up can also be great for recruitment!

All the stops outside of Fandom except for the Baltimore bar and Lucifer's club are in Summer's dimension, as well, which has been invaded by aliens a few times and is used to weird shit, so any non-standard-human traits would not raise any eyebrows if there's any concerns there!

Lemme know if there's any questions, everything but Caritas and the Devil's Nest NFB for distance, obviously, and I spent way too much time on this, this is my life ]]

No, Octavia had not been present at any of the previous stops of this pub crawl. But she'd beaten them to this one, if not by a lot. Enough to have exchanged a few words with Amenadiel, and gotten herself a drink. (Incidentally, a version of one of the mocktails she'd been practicing during her latest shift at the Nest.)

She'd found a good spot to watch the dance floor from - as well as the entry into the club, in anticipation of the other Fandomites' arrival.

She also guessed that in her sleek black jump suit and her leather jacket, she probably even looked like she belonged here.

"Taaaaaaaaviiiiiiiiiiii!" It was a very drunk Duke who came over to drape himself across her shoulders. "You're 'eeeeeeeeereeeeeeeee!"

Octavia snorted. "I am," she agreed, looking him over, "and you... are not going to enjoy tomorrow morning, snogon."

He really was very drunk.

It was honestly impressive he was still standing.

"I saw a walrus!"

Well, at least he had her to lean on, now.

"In a bar?"

“Yes,” Duke said very seriously. “But only his head.”

"Ah," Octavia said. "That's... Good for you?"

The quirk of her lips was a little lopsided.

"Think you should have some water?"

"No," Duke said nodding. "Maybe. Yes please."

Octavia made an amused noise that was largely lost to the music.

"Come on, then," she said, giving him a little nudge so she could steer him towards the bar. "Let's get you some."

Duke let himself be steered. "Mmm. You take such good care of me. I love you so much. . . ."

Another soft snort.

"Mm-hmm. I know, snogon."

“Good,” Duke said. “Good good good good ‘cause I do. So much. You and Luce are just. So beautiful. . . .”

"So are you," Octavia told him, still with that faintly amused tone of voice, as they made it to the bar. "Krei meizen," she added.

Before turning her attention towards getting her turn with the bartender.

“We are such beautiful people.”

Octavia let him babble while she made her order.

And not long after, held a nice, big glass of water out for him. "Drink up."

Having spent quite a good deal (if not all) of his evening flitting around various bars with an eye out for lovely ladies, Shunsui had to do a little bit of a double take when he noticed one that looked distinctly familiar at this one.

"Octavia-chan ♥!" How could he not flit his way (perhaps slightly less graceful than usual; his consitution for drinks was impressive but not infallible over with a bright grin. "Now where have you been hiding yourself ♥?"

"In Fandom," Octavia replied, a little wryly, taking in the subtle changes to his usual grace. "Reading."

That was genuinely what she'd told the guys she was staying in port to do, yes.

"Ah ♥!" Shunsui laughed and gave Octavia a little wink, then took a moment to lift his hand because he wasn't sure if he'd lost his hat, but, no, no, it was there! He could have sworn.. "That's certainly a good place to hide ♥. Anything good? Perhaps...some poetry ♥?"

The quirk of his brow matching his smirk that distinctly made it pretty clear what sort of poetry he might be thinking of.

"No, mythology."

Sorry to crush your dreams, Shunsui.

"Ah! Mythology ♥!"

Perhaps not so crushed after all. Mythology, especially a certain kind, definitely had its fair share of....moments.

"Which kind, Octavia-chan ♥?"

"From the Bahamas." Yes, she was still on that kick, Lucifer. (And it still mattered to her.) "Lucifer bought Duke a marina there, so... I guess I'm just trying to understand."

The place. Not the decision to buy a whole marina there.

"Ahhhh &hearts." Yes, he was going to be saying that a lot in this conversation, like every new tidbit of information was a glorious revelation. "Wonderful ♥. Getting familiar with the culture there, especially if you'll be spending some time there with your snogon in his marina ♥. So!"

He took a sip of something that was probably sake from a cup. It was a sake cup, anyway.

"Any good stories to share ♥?"

Octavia offered a little shrug. "Well, there's a creature that's supposed to be half octopus, half shark?"

Which wasn't exactly a story but rather a tidbit, but close enough. It was still something that had fascinated her.

"She guards the dark blue holes around the islands."

"She ♥?" asked Shunsui, with the requisite pique of interest and a faint chuckle. "I'm liking this story already ♥!"

Even if it was more of a tidbit.

"What does she guard them from ♥?" he wondered. Perhaps as a bit of a mythological guardian himself. It could make a good conversation piece, should he and this half-octopus, half-shark creature ever be so blessed to meet.

"People, I guess."

The shrug was even smaller, this time. Something in Octavia's expression was shifting, like there was something that she hadn't actually thought about while she'd been reading but that was now coming together in her head, and she wasn't sure how she felt about it.

"The impression I got was... more that she's making sure all the fish in there are fed."
