Honestly, while there had been a lot of drinking last night, Summer was feeling more of an emotional drainage hangover than anything else. There was definitely an alcohol hangover in there, too, don't get her wrong, but it was definitely sharing the rent.

Thankfully, Summer had distractions and something else to focus on, which she felt was perfect planning, all things considered, because what better way to ignore what had been going on in the last week by focusing on what was going to go on in the next! After all, she had a lot of last minute party prep to do, and a shit ton of impressive jello shots to make before tomorrow.

And, of course, the ubiquitous mass text to send out to let everyone she didn't have a chance to personally badger into coming know about it, being sure to check that Ignis was excluded from the receipients:

...Summer was pretty sure Ignis only knew, like, five people on this island, not including his students, so she was not even remotely worried about the surprise part being ruined.

I am NOT having a cat here for a pool party unless that cat is Cait, in which case I'd still be a little leery about him getting near the water, but we'll see. So issa and pancakes can have a little date at your place while we party it up!

She just assumed Seivarden would be there because it was a double-whammy for her: not only was Summer throwing it, but the whole reason for it was her room mate's birthday!

Which the initial text had said, yes, but out of those, like, five people Ignis knew, Seivarden was definitely the one Summer suspected would be most likely to ruin it.

I would hope swimsuits were a given considering the pool part of the party but who knows? I'll be in one at least

And she might have mentioned a certain promised speedo, but she didn't know if Seivarden and Lucifer were still on the outs (but all things considered, she could GUESS), so she didn't.

A good thing we bought that when shopping then.

Should Summer ever need swimming gloves Seivarden would get her a pair of pink, fancy and very fashionable ones.

And Summer would absolutely love them, based on the pink alone, although she would probably not be able to stop laughing any time she'd wear them.

And Summer truly hoped that the long pause before a response came had to do with Seivarden recognizing that as a sort of fierce independent botch test, but she wouldn't have put money on it. Especially not after the response did come through and she sighed, shaking her head.
