Room 312: Naya Shard Hotel - Wednesday Evening - Summer's School Trip Room Party.
On the one hand, having to move over to this janky-ass theme hotel after getting only just a taste of the luxury hotel she'd been planning to have this party in was a real kick in the teeth. But, on the other hand, this hotel definitely did make Summer feel like she was returning to the roots of the vibes of what a room party should be, making the most with what you had just to slip away from responsibilities to enjoy a few beers and some jello shots with either your fellow students or your fellow teachers. There was a charm to it, a certain humbleness, quaint, really...
...At least that's what she was telling herself.
She'd done small room parties before. Some hotels just didn't have the same space or amenities or cool features as others, and it was fine. There might need to be some spill over into the hallway, and the lines between students and teachers were getting so blurred anyway that it didn't really matter about keeping a bunch of kids out, because most of the kids these days were allnerds pretty quiet and chill anyway. But there was a problem with space of the room, and even that was handled by hiring Gladio and Amaya (it was good to have other characters friends with impressive....lifting capabilities!) to move the bed out of the room, into another one for the time being to give more floor space, and, really, with the bed removed? It wasn't too bad. Cozy. Intimate!
...At least that's what she was telling herself.
Of course, there were moddable snacks on a small table against one wall; beer and soda were chilling in the sink in the bathroom filled with ice, and, of course, there was a table with some liquor and even some local wines she was able to lock down along with the main feature, the infamous jello shots. The pride of the offerings was the ones she made with the Doritos booze Stark had gotten her, fancily dusted with a Doritos crumble, but there were also your expected space themed shots, including a space jello punchbowl. And, of course, she'd also taken inspiration from the island (wistfully, piningly) by securing a few local fruits and whatnot for a series of inspired shots there. You know, things like mai tais and pina colada and mojito, but, you know...more space fruit-y.
A part of her wondered if she should take inspiration from the Astrotorium, too, and that was how she wound up with cotton candy, cinnamon roll, and corn dogs.
When did she have the time and how did she get the resources to pull all those off? Don't ask, she had her ways. Just come in, enjoy the party, try not to bump into too many people in the limited space and or party in shifts, maybe? Either way, there was so much jello, there was some good tunes pumping through her portable speaker, and it was time for the traditional Wednesday Night School Trip Room Party!

"I hear there's alcohol!" she announced. Because she had priorities.

There was....a pause.
"It is a school event, after all. Also, hi?" She'd offer out a hand, but she had a feeling Navaan would want both of them for better booze handling, which she could only respect. "I don't think we've met before, have we?"
no subject
"Doctor Navaan!" she announced. "I work at the clinic and I teach Creative Writing because I write smutty novels."
no subject
But that answer had her lifted her eyebrows a little. "Huh," she said. "Then you and the last guy who 'taught' Creative Writing around here," and, yes, you could hear those quotation marks, "have that in common."
Look, Summer was very open-minded and liberal and not afraid of it, but The Rose-Colored Path had been mildly traumatizing. Although that had more to do with the author than the prose itself.
"And I'm Summer. I own the general store, bartend at Caritas, and teach...well, usually about disgusting food but also sometimes about life skills and space shit? I don't know, my resume is very diverse."
no subject
"Oooh, a woman with a lotta skills, I like that!" Navaan said. And then considered. "Are you dibbsed?"
Important question!

And excuse Summer a moment as she blinked, mid-preening over herself and her excellent skills and getting ready to tell Navaan all about more of them, when that, yes, very important, but also very potentially awkward questions hit.
Because while there was absolutely a definitive, undeniable, absolutely conclusive answer to that question, this was....a very small room.
Which thankfully meant the booze was also very close at hand, and Summer was just going to grab the nearest bottle, one of the little plastic shot glasses, pour some into it and throw it back, regretting that it was the Doritos one, but, hey, also, it was not that bad.
"Nope!" she declared, staring down the barrel of this party suddenly about to become way more interesting in ways that she was not sure what to make of quite yet. "No dibs here!"
no subject
Honestly, that was one of the classier ways she could have put it.

"And just so we're clear," she said, because, look, they were in space, and she didn't know Navaan, and she'd learned the hard and/or awkward way that sometimes things weren't always what you thought they were, "by flanged, you do mean..."
But she shook her head. "Fuck it," she said, throwing back the shot. "Yes, actually. Yes, I do."
She grabbed a bottle to take with her.
"Let's go get some fresh air. It's crowded as balls in here."
